I heard she came over to the US illegally and the 61 year old let her stay in his house. He thought they were a couple but she was playing him by sending money to the DR so her husband can come over the same way she did by crossing the Mexican border. She told the 61 year old that the guy was her cousin and he needed a place to stay until he got on his feet. When she got pregnant he thought the kid was his until he realized the boy looked like the "cousin" who was really her husband.
I hear stories like this are common for DR women to trick men into thinking the cousin is really the boyfriend or husband so they can continue to get money out of the guy. The families are usually into it but this time it turned deadly because you never know who you are messing with.
