Truth.

There was a collection of unreleased demos that was online years ago, that had old references and songs on it. I downloaded it back then. I need to find that and dust those off. Devante had a lot of heat in the vault.

We were crazy about Jodeci around the way, back in the day. I don’t think any of us thought that run was gonna end in '95. It's crazy to realize it only went a few years. We've never seen anything like it since.

Thinking about it some more, I think the quick end of Jodeci was 3 fold:

1) Drugs

2) Suge going to jail in '97 and no longer having the protection he had after the robbery

And

Devante had his own Dungeon Family in Da Bassment, but his ego destroyed it. The crew splintered off and you had Timbaland, Magoo, Ginuwine, Missy, Playa, and later Tweet finding success under Timbaland. Stevie J. does his own thing as Hitmen for Puff. Darryl Pearson goes on to produce Mya's debut and other acts and links back up with Tim.

3) Everyone in that crew left and became much more successful. Ginuwine, who was doing background vocals on Danny Boy songs at the beginning of 1996, is now a star months later due to Timbo; Aaliyah's second album was a hit due to Timbo, and that collective took off except for wack ass Magoo.
