Looking for a good temporary customer service work-from-home-type gig that pays at least $25/hr. Additionally "if" I don't want to talk to anyone and just wanted to be a "live chatbot" instead, would I be looking for the job under the same search terms?

Is Linkedin a good place to search if I want to filter my search to either just AM or PM shifts and things like that? Or what other sites are recommended? Is Monster.com still a thing?

I don't have "on the phone" customer service experience, but I do have some in-person customer service experience.

Although having the option to potentially work this job from a different country would be nice (and I'm sure many do with the use of VPNs), I plan to be in the USA for at least the next 6 months.

Any links or suggestions are welcome.

P.S.- Even though I put this in 6 figs/6 certs, I don't have or plan on getting any of these tech certs, but I posted here so that the question wouldn't get buried in The Locker Room.

Chat support sucks, and you aren’t gonna get $25. More like 20. They’ll have you doing 2 or 3 chats at the same time. It’s worse than taking calls.

You would be better off spending $30 on udemy courses, studying for 2 months to get at least 2 entry level certs: the A+ and the NET+ and get a helpdesk position. Then you’ll actually get the $25/HR and a much less stressful job.

- Lack of on the phone experience
- Temporary
- $25/hour

How are you better than some Phillipino guy or Kenyan for $2-5/hour ?

no one's gonna pay you 25 bucks an hour to chat to customers from home :dead:

an indian is doing it for 5 bucks an hour, or a robot is doing it for free
Disney & CVS will but I believe you need to have experience with what they are looking for. Dude has his head in the clouds if he thinks $25 is an entry level wage though :heh:

Came back to say that I personally know one woman that did not have a resume showing previous "Phone Customer Service experience", and she was hired for $25/hr. She didn't have anyone in the company that put her on directly. And she had less real-world work experience than I do. She's been on with that store since that time.

The one exception though is that she was hired in either late 2020 or 2021 when there were alot of companies looking to hire, and not alot of people looking to work (people were getting blessed by stimulus checks, regular unemployment, pua, etc.). She can't put me on directly either, but I will update the thread if I get any traction in my search, or decide to pivot to something else.

I completely agree that Filipinos, Indians, etc. will work for alot less, but maybe I'll get lucky.

In the OP, I mentioned I'd like to have flexibility to eithe choose an AM or PM shift (AM preferable), because I'd most likely be doing different independent contractor work outside the home in the late afternoon/evening later in the year when the weather warms up.
