As much as a lot of yall like making fun of Japan for having such a high suicide rate you should keep in mind that that rate is only like 2% :yeshrug:. This means that around 32000 people die of suicide annualy in Japan. Japan has one of the lowest homicide rates in the world and is one of the healthiest countries in the world. There's no such thing as street crime in Japan and the closest thing that they have to crime is the Yakuza. The Yakuza deals with organized crime but their main focus is extortion and they rarely bother the average person. This means that the only thing that a Japanese person has to worry about is suicide since they don't have to deal with health related deaths (heart attacks, cancer etc.) or himicides/street crime. A child is more likely to live to the age of 80 in Japan than anywhere in the world.
In fact most countries in East Asia have high life expectancies so this begs the question: Is the west really that great :ohhh:.
