None really, Eiyuden Chronicles (the new game made by the same team from these games) still has some inventory management quirks I didn't like, but at least improved on it.

This is true, but I'd add that grinding isn't too bad in the first two games since you get certain combo attacks that hit the entire enemy team, and the leveling for under-leveled characters goes pretty fast. The real headache of playing on Hard is that the encounter rate can get annoying.

Did you get to run it without your console sounding like it was trying to download the a wing's worth of Pentagon servers all at the same time?
I played the pre-quel and got all hyped after beating it, copped on gamepass and had to turn my shyts off within an hour of playing. Fans never stopped spinning. Tried it on the PS5....same thing.

I didn't run into those issues, but my PS5 has been crazy sturdy. The only game that gets it working on overdrive is Rivals.

I've actually been meaning to go back in to Chronicles because they've dropped three DLC additional chapters. I got all the heroes and beat a bunch of the mini games (Idk why, but the cooking competitions in Suikoden and Chronicles both got me addicted). So, I feel like if I go back in, I'll be hooked again for a while.
