2002 was the year I started school, which was the same year my aunt graduated high school, so I remember quite a bit

I know it wasn't a summer song but this was one of my favorite songs back then

"I Need a Girl" Part 1 was a Spring hit (Part 2 was the summer hit).

The CD single for Fat Joe & Ashanti's "What's Luv" dropped in December 2001. NO WAY was it a summer 2002 hit. More of a early 2002 hit.

Both songs were played throughout the summer regardless!!!!!

I'm going off my memory of music video rotation on MTV, BET, & VH1 at the time and not necessarily radio airplay . "What's Luv" was definitely done by the time summertime started & "I Need a Girl" Part 1 was replaced by "I Need a Girl" part 2 when Summer started.
