E3 doesn’t make games come out faster
No, but im not sure why that's relevant
That's not the problem, what E3 did was consolidate the timing of the announcements. This, the sony state of play, M$ event, black ops 6 and the upcoming nintendo direct would've been all in one showcase, with a lot of the fluff cut out. That would've been much more worthwhile.

People bemoaning this but this is the route it has to go. I saw people talking about Lego Horizon on YouTube before this event even that it would likely be on PC day 1. Indie titles with smaller teams aren't gonna have leaks like that. Back when Sony was still doing E3 pre-events almost all their stuff was leaking before the event to the point the presenters would joke about it on stage. Microsoft is still doing their events and still having leaks. Nintendo is still doing Nintendo directs.
To the posters here who likely didn't go to E3 it not happening this year or ever again doesn't amount to much. Nintendo and Sony can rent out a theater and host live events just like they used to do. They choose not to because it really doesn't make sense anymore. E3 ain't coming back because we don't need it.

Killed E3 to pay Dorito Pope 6 figures for every 20 second pre-rendered CGI ad spot like he's Goodell running the Super Bowl.
Oh don't forget industry workers who could've used E3's in-person networking opportunities more than ever with the thousands of layoffs in gaming/tech every month, and the regular folks like you and me who could actually go and play/demo these games in person don't get anything anymore from this bullshyt neither. NASTY WORK letting Geoff KKKeighly monopolize all of what should be gaming's biggest trade shows. 
Hell almost everything has open betas. Hell I just downloaded the Trails Through Daybreak demo and it's literally the first 8-10 hours of the game. Common gamers get to play pre-release builds so why do they need to spend millions on space on a show floor for journalist to play them only? Most of these companies have quarterly updates on their projects on YouTube. You not gonna get that pre and early days internet feel where bombs were dropped on a stage because stuff leaks out months before that would ever happen.
Pining for E3 is line longing for the days we used to walk around video rental stores and carefully pick out a few movies to watch on weekends. Technology just eliminated the need for that stuff.

Who do you think it was that killed E3? It was the publishers and hardware makers that pulled support making it unsustainable. E3 was a trade show for insiders and press. Most everyday people wasn't flying out there and getting into that.E3 was a celebration of games.

I love E3 but it’s time to let it go. It had its time full of classic moments I doubt SGF will ever reach. 
Blame Nintendo for their directs, and Sony for not showing up!!!!
