In this small world of battle rap they stars but in the big picture they struggling artist making a name for themselves through battle rap hanging they hats on a couple of million views when it's dancing cats that get 20 million views

Battle rappers are dumb as shyt for the most part and don't look at the big picture. They are not business men. Summer Madness is great exposure. It's the wrestlemania of battle rap. It's a time where the casual fan will tune in to hear what you have to say. The whole point is to use that moment to branch into other things.
Why not show off your writing skills to potentially be a ghost writer?

Being a battle rapper has to be weird. Cause they get the same treatment that big mainstream rappers get from fans, shyt a lot of mainstream rappers ARE their fans. So I can see how that builds an ego, but at the same time, they don't make the money to match the fame. So they're in a weird place.
