Sunday gaming talk...do you miss music karaoke games?

I never got into them, but I do find it interesting how the trend died relatively quickly in gaming history...I thought a new staple had been created forever. What was it that killed it? Is it the fact that they kept trying to sell new guitar set packages? Did people just get tired of the whole karaoke concept? Too much DLC? Are the dance central games more fun to play? Will a new one released in 2015 and beyond reach 1080P on the xbox one?

Last Guitar Hero game was released in 2010
Last Rock Band game was released in 2012

These type of games still come out but their usually small spin off games of existing titles and they usually arrive on handhelds.

The last one i kind of played was something for the Nintendo DS which is kinda like Guitar Hero.

Other than that, I never got into the guitar hero/DDR type games.

The shyt got old because its so repetitive, it was only fun if you had friends around but dont no one got time for fake band practice

Nah it was just a touch screen based game. Tap the points on the screen to match the beat and shyt.

I miss these types of games.

The new amplitude is coming out soon though. I can't wait

Yeah, I got accused of cheating on amplitude because I was so good

On guitar hero/rock band you just gotta be 100% perfect and never make a mistake. Some of those tracks were

I got great hand eye coordination and rhythm with these types of games for whatever reason. On amplitude your fingers move so fukking fast. You don't think, you just do. Thinking is what fukks you up.

I am a classically trained pianist though, so that probably helped. These are basically piano games when you think about it.

I played guitar hero once. shyt was honestly kind of fun with friends, but it's not something I would want to play solo

I remember the crazy thing was I was playing for a minute, then when I stopped and looked at this magazine, the shyt was 'breathing' like I just ate acid or some shyt. I guess watching that constant pattern fuct with my eyes/brain

Those Guitar Hero/Rock Band games were fun party games, but they became oversaturated. Each one was coming out with annual sequels without much improvements. I never bought any of those games, but the peripherals had to be expensive.
