I feel a lot more freedom and variety in a mario platformer and range of motion then the shoot everything on the screen and move to the next checkpoint aspect of most FPS single player campaigns...the reality is what sells the FPS is the online competition aspect but for people who can't spend all day gaming you won't be competitive with 13 yr olds who do nothing but shoot people all day in these games
FPS also have this unrealistic feeling of movement and auto aim on assist on a controller takes the realism out of these shooting games at least a game like gears of war felt realistic with the speed and weight of the character and Uncharted gives you platforming aspects
Naw. The Kinect was a response to the WII, same with the Sony with their motion controls. So I don't give Sony ANY credit for the Kinect Nintendo basically change the game last gen, both companies had to if they wanted to compete.
What doesn't make sense is that the Wii U is bombing sure, but people are acting like its ALL over for Nintendo all of a sudden. This gen they aren't doing so well and Nintendo is supposed to just roll over...Barely ONE year into the life of the console???? Besides, no one knows what the future holds...who's the say Nintendo won't shock the industry AGAIN and revolutionize the way we game...AGAIN...
With that being said if Nintendo developed more MATURE games with the same mentality for quality as they do with their other IP's..sheesh
Same mechanics? Its a platformer...That's like saying Call of Duty has had the same mechanics because its a FPS. I get what he MEANS...but Mario 64 to Mario Galaxy are two completely different games...the ONLY thing they have in common are the main characters. Same thing with GTA...sure they change a few MINOR gameplay mechanics but its the same thing right????
Uh...."Skyward Sword" sold 3.5 mill in 5 months. "Crossbow Training" sold 4.8 mill in 2 and a half years. You're comparing apples and oranges.
Also "less than 4 out of 100" is kinda meaningless because the game sold more or less what every "Zelda" game does, but the Wii user base is 100+ million, not 22 mill like the Gamecube or 32 mill like the N64.

I know that and that was my point if read my posts. Dude was saying Nintendo should have gone after the same crowd that bought the Wii and my point was that most of the Wii owners got it with 2-3 games in a bundle and didn't really buy games unless it was bundled with some gimmick like the Zapper that came with Crossbow Training.
Also I don't agree with you that "less than 4 out of 100" is meaningless because people keep bringing up that Zelda & Mario will always save Nintendo because they are system sellers.

What you're saying is meaningless in the context of the conversation. The game didn't sell less, the Wii user based was 5x what it was on Gamecube. So when you put it in terms of "only X number of Wii owners copped Y", it skews the fukk out of the information.
I'm not sure what % of 100 mill Wiis sold would be considered a success. It's not as if "Zelda" pushes 10 mill units, ever. To put it into perspective nobody in their right mind would call "Ocarina of Time" a flop and it only sold 7 mill.
They should be showing this video and making sure people know that the Wii U is not just some extension of the Wii - it's brand new hardware that you want to get to play the game in that trailer.

I know you are not dumb so reading this is really strange.
Dude: They should continue catering to the Wii crowd
Me: No, they sold bunch of Wii's and peripherals to people that didn't buy other games then Wii Sports and Wii Fit. See this Zelda game, it sold similary as older Zelda titles but this Zelda FPS sold more because it came with a shiny new toy (The Zapper)
=
They should not go after the Wii crowd and try something new.
Trust and believe they are different. Each one is different hell Mario 1,2 and 3 on nes are completely different! Granted they could integrate more shyt. nikkas would sell their soul for another Mario RPG. Upgrades and leveling up is kind of a zelda/metroid thing.
It's the same sword we knight them, we gone goodnight them with.
It's weird for me to say this but nintendo is like home. Nintendo is like the girl with all the fundamentals. She's cute, smart, makes you smile, she's great around your mom, she's reliable and in your corner for years. Then someone sexy comes around, someone wild, someone exciting. Someone that takes you away from your friends and family ,
no split screen local multi-player having fakkits
someone who occasionally gets it right, is occasionally good looking and smart or smart and fun. Someone who more often will give you what you want, but not what you need. She spends a lot of time trying to fill voids by being good looking or isolating you rather than giving you the fundamentals and feeding your core.
And after 25 years you think you've grown up, you've matured, that you have "needs" that have to be fulfilled. you think because you've seen her around and you know people that know her that she hasn't grown that she hasn't changed. Your looking for something old with someone new when figuratively and literally there's no place like home.
NINTENDO NEEDS TO STOP MAKING GARBAGE...ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT....THE Wii WAS TRASH AND THE Wii U IS EVEN TRASHIER.....INVEST IN RAM....INVEST IN BETTER SOFTWARE...AND ALSO INVEST SOME TIME IN CREATING NEW FLAGSHIP TITLES...HOW MANY TIMES ARE THEY GONNA REMAKE MARIO? THEY NEED TO STEP IT UP BECAUSE I WOULDNT BE SURPRISED IF THEY TURNED INTO SEGA BY THE END OF THE NEW CONSOLE GENERATION..
