Oh. I misunderstood. I thought he was going through frame by frame and providing the input himself.
That seems tedius.
If he understands the necessary inputs he should be able to write a macro to have the ai playthrough it in its entirety. I don't see the point.
There is no reason to add stage phases via doors either if there is no user input... unless his tilesets are limited and he has to section areas to change from grass to lava for example due to engine limitations.
I haven't used Lunar Magic to make a mario stage in a long time... but I'm guessing thats what this is built in.

It isn't a bot, it's tool assisted. He input the commands frame by frame and can rewind and re-record his mistakes.
