You don't know what building a relationship means?

I'm dead serious. If you can't see the difference between Biden and Bernie with how they interacted with black voters then you don't get it.

Here are a few examples that I gave y'all before super Tuesday:

1. Joe Biden actually showed up at black churches. Something that has long been considered a pillar of the black community. Especially in the south.

2. Joe Biden can point to his time as Vice President and the changes people saw during that time. He was literally on the ticket that brought us out of the recession. That resonates with people.

3. Joe Biden has affirmed that he will not capitulate to the fringe elements of the party who want to abolish ICE and normalize illegal immigration/ open borders. That matters, especially when a lot of Black folks feel like they are competing against illegal immigrants for resources.

4. Joe Biden has a history of passing major legislation. You might now like it, but it happens.

5. People view his platform positions as actually achievable.

6. Endorsements from other known commodities that you trust/respect.

It is what it is. But he's a known commodity with reasonable proposals and has shown a willingness to show up at places a lot of Black folks deem as important.

On the other hand you have a guy who has some pretty good ideas, but hasn't made the effort to directly reach out to pillars of the black community, ignores older voters, and reduces every racial issue down to an issue of class.

shyt ain't rocket science.
This guy never responds to me any more, but this was a great post. Pos rep.

Socialism is easier to defend over Hunter Biden.
Not sure the general electorate has the appetite for “falling for” some Ukraine/Russian cooked up scandal after 2016. This could backfire on trump simply because the external affairs from “suspect countries” card was played in 2016 already

Pathetic. Total lack of awareness.
Because he and the democrats will need them - ask Hillary. The primary electorate is older, more affluent and more conservative than the Democratic vase as a whole. Why is it that you and 6 nikkas have no purpose on this board aside from gaslighting progressives?

Has anyone ever seen a Pressure post and thought this man just made an important policy point? You’re basically Napoleon with less twitter links and more snark. I have to throw you back on ignore - you’re a centrist hack that covered yourself in Warren support to hide your bullshyt. Most of you did that honestly.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
I still think Bernie got this. Can't overreact...

Once all the Super Tuesday delegates are allocated, it'll be a near tie with Biden or Bernie leading.

I'm going to reiterate that from no going forward the most important States to worry about are the swing States in the General election of electability is the #1 concern.

So...

Michigan
Wisconsin
Ohio
Indiana
Florida
Iowa
and NC

Cut the BS man. You guys have to stop basically being the mouthpiece for white centrists and liberals. Black voters vote on name recognition and how much they like you. By black voters I mean older black people and largely women. Obama himself said Kerry in 04 hadn’t won over the “hearts and minds” of black people and we all knew what he meant. Al Sharpton won a substantial portion of the black vote in the south that year and he had no chance of being president. We need to have a real conversation and what you’re doing now is the root of all the progressive fire at you guys this entire election. You’re gaslighting us and basically acting as a spin machine for the Democratic Party and baby boomer voters on a forum of left-leaning millennials and gen z. People are not trying to hear this nonsense as if we aren’t black ourselves and we don’t interact with older black voters everyday. Joe Biden has quite literally done nothing for black peoples but be friends with Obama. Warren had plans and used intersectional language and had no leeway. Steyer brought up reparations and went nowhere. Sanders had every black activist in the south backing him along with black lives matter and black academia. It made no difference. Stop gaslighting us man. This is the shyt that makes people not vote. You’re insulting our intelligence.
I'm a black southern male, who canvassed and volunteered for months for the Warren Campaign in Mecklenburg County.

Older black voters weren't convinced that Bernie's policies have a shot at passing.

Young black voters were more palatable to his plans, but they just didn't turn up.

Ultimately there life isn't worse.

Then you have your segment of voters who took an interest, asked questions, and likely went along with what their community leaders told them was their best bet.

I dont recall Sanders setting foot in a black church.

How do you expect to carry the southern black vote without doing the bare minimum?

Yall are so out of touch with southern politics and its showing.

At some point you're going to have to accept that the majority of the country doesn't care about leftist policy as much as you do.

As a Warren supporter, I can accept that. Can you?

I've already voted all that's left now it to get on board with how it's playing out.

Sanders will split the white vote in all those states and lose the entire black vote. It’s over bro.

At the end of the day you can criticize older black southerners for voting based of name recognition, endorsements, and personal relationships or if the goal is to win you go out and do all of those things just to get #'s on the board. Staying to your principles is nice and cool and all but if the goal is power than :yeshrug:

Bigger issue is when the central theme of you and your campaign is some radical anti-establishment outsider than there is only so much work you can do to build said relationships and get those coveted endorsements from the well liked people you are trying to light on fire. :yeshrug:

At this point Bernie Bros are basically admitting that the Sanders campaign didn't make the necessary in roads despite a 4 years head start and massive operation.

And now that is somehow the voter's fault and not the campaign.

This is the complete opposite of what y'all have been saying that you have to earn voters and that's on the candidate.

One more thing before I am out, why do people here care if Latinos also get free healthcare and tuition, as long black people also benefit. That is basically how republican keep their poor whites in check by saying do you really want black benefit too.

I'll donate to Bernie tomorrow. Maybe Nap drops the Warren supporter act and jumps back on the Biden wagon, cause we need all the luck.
Yeah I agree. I understand that young Black people are sick of the Dems taking our vote for granted. I am one of them. I think reparations or no vote symbolizes that frustration. However, some of us don’t understand that there are other issues besides reparations that impact our lives (if you don’t believe me just go into the Locker Room Forum). Americans in general lack basic civics. This make it easier for the powerful to stay in power.

I'm a man of humility and can admit being wrong. After talking to some older folks this morning, I realize I underestimated how strong the desire for "Normalcy" is. But, I still think you'll see a depressed young people turn out because I fail to see how you generate excitement for Biden of all people.. But, I'm more open to the possibility that Biden has something that might make enough people want to vote for him to beat Trump. We'll see.
This was framed as a return to normalcy election out the gate. Some of y’all thought we just hate Bernie when we were speaking against all that revolution and anarchy talk. But no, it’s because people really just wanted trump out. 2016 made sense for an ideology war, and 2024 makes sense for one whether we get Biden trump or sanders as president. But when fighting an incumbent the likes of which has never been seen, it’s about getting him out and shaking off the craziness of his administration
