That call came in - we're going to be f*cking stuck with Pete in 2024, bookmark this post.
How does he gain black voters in four years? He's not a viable candidate, fellas. Bernie has tried to court black people in the four years since 2016 and he's still losing big with black people. Pete has no shot.

He's gonna run for congress in Indiana or join a corporate board somewhere. As a gay dude he can't win state-wide races in Indiana so senate and governor aren't realistic either. He's stuck...

Bernie lost big in SC... but in Nevada he was like 6 points behind Biden with black voters

We'll see how it goes nationally. But opinion polls over the last month show Bernie is in much better position nationally

Black voters in SC are not a representation of the national black vote.

With the proper endorsement, he could absolutely take the nomination. Its like you all can't see the influence of the democratic establishment at work.

You guys really need to stop making the DNC sound like some all powerful organization that picks who wins and who loses. Pete has no viability with black people, and he has no shot at winning the south where the black church is key. The end. He's a gay small town mayor with no accomplishments. The idea that the party would throw everything behind him is laughable.

His career is over. Maybe he becomes a congressman? Congrats to him. People who lose primaries badly rarely matter four years later. And while republicans tend to fall in line with the #2 guy next time (see: Reagan, McCain, Romney), democrats are usually far less predictable. The only constant is that guys who lose badly (like Pete) disappear. Who knows who will emerge and take Pete's lane in 4 or 8 years.

Obama.

He is doing the right thing and staying out of the primaries.

Once the nomination is in, he will campaign for whoever the nominee is, if they will let him. That will help black turnout.

Whether Bernie thinks so or not, he needs Obama's endorsement, but something tells me he is going to try to push through without it.

You’re exactly right. This is what we’re dealing with in Florida :snoop:

This was very difficult ot watch
I really wanted to stop listening but kept thinking ok let's just see how stupid can this really get

But keep in mind, Pete Buttigieg supporters aren't too far different.
They supported a guy who says nothing

It’s clear that there are two factions on HL in a way that I’ve never seen before lol. It’s like those people driven by a specific world view either by experience or education (or both) and those driven by strictly being anti-Republican and wanting to win and politics is just a game as opposed to a means to organize society for the best results for everyone. Every clash basically breaks down along those lines when you get to the root of what people stand for. It also explains why some people on here are more angry than others. I used to think people were arguing in bad faith - no, they legitimately don’t have strong, well-read opinions on most of these things because politics is just something on the periphery for them.
