Yeah, but what would it all lead to, especially with this group of acts that have been established for a few decades?

I obviously see an uptick in streams, but what else?

Off topic, but is it true olympians dont get paid either? If so, i think that is even worse.

ou get the uptick in streams, but it also introduces your music potentially to a new artist that wouldn't have seen you perform otherwise.
You can use the promotion and publicly to leverage a tour or rollout a new album in the process. Mary J is going to benefit from performing the Superbowl more than any of those other artist IMO. I've read that Dre is mainly footing the bill for the Halftime Performance so I'm not sure if the other artist are pitching in financially as well.

In the case of Olympians, they get their money from endorsement deals and sponsorships, which isn't bad at all. You can make the argument that performing at the Olympics is by choice and not an obligation especially in the US, so they shouldn't necessarily get paid for it.

The only problem with it is that they actually have to pay taxes on the medals that they win, which is stupid and completely fukked up. Like thousands of dollars worth of taxes.

the exposure argument is invalid because by the time you get to the level to perform at the super bowl (which is for the most part only broadcast in america), you're more than likely huge and/or growing.

but im personally not invested in :cape:for celebs.

If the exposure was invalid legendary artist wouldn’t sign up to do it every year.

This is why everybody dont succeed in business :russ:

“Man I’m not finna go in front of 100 million people for free, they got to pay me”

*gets on twitter*

“Yeah man that record didnt sell cause the label didnt let people know it was out there”

Short term gratification mindset hurts in the long run.
