And that's what has me excited.

You get a guy like Luca saying I'm down to do a WW2 period piece on a character, and the script is dope, let's go.

A horror guy like Mike Flanagan approaching Gunn an saying, I've got a script for Clayface that's an R rated body horror film influenced by his Batman TAS episode and The Fly, I'm in.

We've seen that if Gunn doesn't fukk with the script, it's not getting made. He's already said the Authority was on the back burner because he wasn't happy with the script.


He's so far been able to get talented creatives either on board or to approach him to do stuff.

I would've pivoted immediately into a DCU Wonder Woman, enough time will have passed since WW1984 (most people didn't see it cuz of covid anyway) and from there then we can get into Lanterns and now most of the JL would have been accounted for and there'd be at least 2 box office successes. Now we're getting into danger zone territory already.

I'm also not 100% sure if aquaman will be in this JL lineup. It's entirely possible he won't. I think Gunn's going to go with the cartoon JL roster.


That's where I'm going with this, Supergirl may just be a mild success, and there's no big money box office sellers in sight right now.


I like what your trying to say but I don't see all these small time characters keeping the lights on.

Marvel lost fan faith by doing too many things we haven't seen, it is what is.

Marvel lost fan faith because we felt we had closure. But they keep trying to continue the universe and expect us to be equally as interested. Or maybe they dont expect that. Either way,they know they can pull in some decent change while they build their new universe to reboot it all.


I think Supergirl will all depend on the portrayl. So far it doesnt seem like she will just be girl Superman. With this revelation from Clarks parents,i wouldnt even mind if they open the door to the idea she may be a potential opp. For example if Zod or Brainiac came and wanted to recreate Krytpon,she might fully be into the idea. Due to her having more loyalties to krypton then Clark.


And I would prefer Aquaman,and i think Gunn will do the character justice. Hear me out,Gunn has Warner Brothers in the palm of his hand. Imagine Aquaman pulling up to Metropolis on the back of Godzilla to take down Superman#SVG


The entire Warner Brothers filmography is at his disposal. Might even get a King Kong or Remmick cameo if it makes sense

I was really rockin with this chick after HOTD, but then I watched that stank ass Sirens show. I'm gonna have to see the reviews on Supergirl before I decide to check that in the theater. I hear her Superman Cameo is barely a cameo.

I questioned the strategic move of this at the time (as the next cinematic adaptation) but after watching Superman i understand the strategy

A lot of the Marvel movies in the Infinity Saga post 2012 Avengers didn't have to be great for strong box office, they just had to not completely suck and the equity that Ironman built would take care of the rest. That same brand loyalty led to a wider margin for error and increased risk (that inevitably turned to arrogance and almost crippled them post-end game, but i digress)

And so for DC/WB, this Superman movie likely rebuilds a lot of the lost equity the past regime coughed up, but yea I wouldn't overextend to other DC IPs just yet; insead if you can go 2 for 2 with Superman and Supergirl, especially with what we saw towards the end of the movie -no spoilers-, then that's 2 birds 1 stone with the brand loyalty and syngergy.

I agree. This is one of the things that I don't like about what Gunn is doing so far. We don't need a Sgt. Rock movie, an Authority movie, a Clayface movie, etc. Just so unnecessary, lol.

There are lesser-known DC characters/groups that are better and should be given the spotlight instead of those ones.

We are in a different era than when Marvel started.

How streaming can factor into what gets greenlit matters and Gunn isn’t aiming for everything to build a successive story but a cohesive universe. Also the budgets can vary wildly.

Green Lantern and Supergirl both benefited from other reasons. Supergirl is based on one singular story and not 50 years of history so script turn around was faster. Green Lantern had been in production under the DCEU with Berlanti and was about to shoot so there was a lot of preproduction already done.

Yeah, I think it's definitely lookin like a space opera type flick and she mentioned traveling to Red Suns etc.. They'll likely be planet hopping which makes this a lot more interesting to me than grounded on earth
