These characters are mostly 50 years plus old with countless stories to pull from.
We don’t have to see Sinestro from rookie GL to main to Hal’s mentor to his fall to yellow Lantern to get his character. You could start with Hal as Obi-Wan and show his feelings about Darth Sinestro.
If this version of the DCU lasts for 16+ years like the MCU they will need to have room to tell every story. It will be too late to try an push an origin story down the line. And when screenwriter start making up their own stories to compensate that when you will get the most trash.
