How did people feel about my boy Hoult as Lex?

Crushed it, played a psychopathic MAGA/Tech Bro to a tee!

Music was kinda trash, Lex theme went hard and that was it

Some serious moments were undone due to the jokey shyt, in some ways it felt like I was watching Flash or SS2...

Lack of film score really hurt this movie, just wasn't present and re-using the Williams theme is just lazy IMHO.

Zimmer made a score for MoS that has yet to be beat.

Basically they lowered superman powers just like what the animated series that bruce timm created?
Not a spoiler but some may not want to read this, but I'm just directly answering your question.

He's most certainly strong as fukk, and that was demonstrated in the movie, but they put a LOT of emphasis on how much harder his job is because he's also trying to save everyone around him and not just murder everything in his path.

I do have one gripe as I feel like Gunn made one dumb mistake and possible wrote himself in a corner for the future with one scene though

The scene at the end when it was revealed that Perry and Jimmy found out or KNEW Lois and Superman are dating.

Now what happens when they see Lois and Clark maybe flirt in the office?

Peoole can put 2 + 2 together…. Especially when Clark gets missing when SM is in action.

Minor gripe, may be nothing but in most other case for the public and Business eyes.

SM and Lois were not an item
This would only be a problem specifically for Superman films or Metropolis based films.

Justice League or other DC projects Superman is involved in likely won't have all these Daily Planet nikkas so :manny:

This was OK. It was a fun popcorn summer action movie. The stand outs were the action scenes and Mr. Terrific. I totally side the posters who say it had no emotional weight. It all rung a bit shallow. And before you accuse me of being a Snyderverse fangirl please understand I thought that era was too dark and weird to be Superman. I’m a Christopher Reeves era fan so I don’t really care for dark brooding Superman but what I do want is something with substance. This wasn’t that. You can have humor but you have to anchor the characters in something that feels authentic. This felt like a bunch of soliloquies and speeches strung together with some humor to break them up. The dialogue just didn’t feel authentic to me so I didn’t really get invested or care when I was supposed to. I also think the characters were written a bit dumbed down. Almost like they thought the audience would be too stupid to handle anything more complex or nuanced. But I did chuckle a lot and enjoyed the fights. 6.5/10

Did anyone pick up blatant jabs at Israel and Musk? I wonder what conservatives think about the conflict depicted.

I expected a reveal/correction but they stood ten toes on it lol
It almost felt like DC was clapping back at all these dark Superman depictions. It's funny cuz I was just saying the other day to my nikkas how everyone has gotten to really capitalize on the concept of Superman except DC themselves.

Between brightburn, omni man and homelander nikkas have been FEASTING :mjlol:

I was going to be critical but there is no point since this movie never took itself seriously. For those saying James gunn didnt gunn it up, I'm not sure what movie yall watched but this was straight up looney tunes status. If a giant acme anvil dropped out the sky and killed the villain at the end it wouldn't have even felt out of place. Its a convoluted mess of a film. Mr Terrific was the best part of the movie and he had the best fight scenes.

There were hundreds of plot holes and pretty much nothing got explained.
Where did the growing giant monster come from? We just gonna have hundreds of monkeys typing on twitter and social media? A computer code reverses some giant rift caused by blackholes?

I could keep going but no point cause its not a serious movie. People are calling it goofy and silly but I would just call it dumb. check you brain at the door dumb entertainment. So if you go in the theater with the mindset of it being a cartoon then its serviceable. I just don't see or really care to see where they go from here. 5/10 for Mr Terrific's scenes.
