She thought it was too preachy and she thought they used the word 'shyt' too much lol. I do think my mom, like a like old southern Baptist Black folks, is an Israel defender, so maybe it touched a nerve? She'd never admit to that though.
I was surprised at how much cussing was in the movie. Definitely a Superman movie lol

Flag Jr is dead

Sr also was supposed to have died, but I guess they are going to explain how he survived creature commandos in the next season

As far as the engineer goes, gunn was working on the authority and I believe the engineer is supposed to be in that

SO THAT HIGHLY
DANGEROUS ENGINEER PERSON DID ESCAPE?

HOW IS FLAG JR DEAD
WHEN DCEU ISNT CANNON ANYMORE?

Fair, but Cakebatter said "the most comic-accurate" Superman.

It's a mixture of many inspirations. Here's a post from Gunn last year:

The characterization of Supes and Clark are from the post crisis reboot. The silver age stuff is more of the tone/feel of the world around him, imo.

If you "love" Man of Steel, I doubt you'll be a fan of this movie.

However, watch the movie and see what you ultimately think.
That's crazy to say. I love Man of Steel and like this movie. Not everyone that likes Man of Steel is some Snyder dudebro loyalist

Well considering there was people a few metres away we can also assume that people were hiding in it. We know buildings were occupied according to BVS so he was hearing all those deaths and still carrying on. The indifference comes seemingly from his apparent lack of care.
You can assume that with all superhero movies that have fights in cities. Do you think that no one is ever in those buildings or aren't being smashed by debris? You may be able to save some but you aren't saving everyone.
But again, you can't divorce the fact that Supes was brand new fighting experienced military soldiers. Mistakes will be made and BvS was about the ramifications of those mistakes

I did say that he should watch the movie to see what he thinks :manny:

Anyway, from what I've seen in this thread and other places online, most Man of Steel lovers don't like the new Superman movie or think it's just "meh".

Bro, they drastically changed Superman’s possible origins and you wanna pull out the “it’s just one movie, let it play out” excuse? :gucci:

It’s just one quick scene or exposition they could have done to fix a plothole. Since they were too lazy to do it here, let’s see if they come back to it later.
smallville had the same Jor-el

Fair enough :ehh:

I'm just tired of the blanketing that's going on online for the anti-Snyders and the Snyder loyalists. I can defend Man of Steel for the reasons why I like it and what I interpreted from the film and give props to this film. Both films have scenes I don't care for but largely I feel they are good movies that show both ends of Superman

Ehhh I already said several posts ago that a being like Superman fighting will cause collateral damage. I also addressed his “lack of experience” as also being irrelevant. Again it all boils down to effort and apparent intent for which he displayed none when it came to casualties and civilians. At least up until the family of three which makes the whole thing nonsensical.
