:russ:Nah MOS was trash but we off that, and move on to something much better.

IDK where all these cultist coming from over the years. All the Snyder films were mid as fukk, MOS I feel got appreciated after the fact though and like I said from the technical aspects, it isn't a good movie.

Ehhh I already said several posts ago that a being like Superman fighting will cause collateral damage. I also addressed his “lack of experience” as also being irrelevant. Again it all boils down to effort and apparent intent for which he displayed none when it came to casualties and civilians. At least up until the family of three which makes the whole thing nonsensical.
We are just going to have to agree to disagree. I don't want to derail this thread too much

My first ever comic book was the issue of Superman with Bloodsport on the cover. I must have been 3 or 4

I think for me I had to kinda mentally reset early in the film to forget MOS. MOS still has some of the best fight scenes ever for a super hero flick, but THIS felt like a Comic Book on Film, while in retrospect MOS feels like Movie/Live Action retelling of a Comic property. IDK if that makes sense

It does. The 'Man of Steel' action sequences are what it would look like if Superman and the Kryptonians were real and it's extremely well done. The action sequences in 'Superman' don't drop us in the real world, they are taking place in a live action Justice League cartoon and it's also really well done.

The two movies are striving for different things.

Because the argument started to become personal and too heated.

This is really dumb logic lol. Most rational people would agree that targeting a hero's close family, friends, and pets is off-limits. Also, almost every pet owner/caretaker would be fuming if a pet was stolen from them. Superman is not perfect; he has emotions. That doesn't mean he can't still be looked up to:stopitslime:

In his monologue to Lex at the end he literally said that's what makes him human. That he has emotions and he gets scared, angry, and feels like everybody else but people expect him to be different because he's Superman.

He put a lot of time and effort into the characters and people liked them but ultimately he's the head of the department so yeah he's going to do what benefits his output

NAH THATS JUST STUPID AF
BECAUSE THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE
A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT UNIVERSE

SHANG CHI WAS TRASH.

SUICIDE SQUAD WAS NOT A COMMERCIAL SUCCESS

See,the thing is you have to truly understand world building.

The movie was beloved by critics and fans. It bought you the smash hit "Peacemaker"

"The series, which is a spinoff of last year's "The Suicide Squad" and was created by the movie's director James Gunn, was the most in-demand original streaming TV series in the world as of January 22, according to the data firm Parrot Analytics. It was 69.5 times more in demand than the average series. "

Plus im sure characters like RatCatcher 2 could get a series or make future appearances.

It made D.C realize they needed to steal Gunn from Marvel by offering him the entire DC universe. Here we are today and Superman is a resounding success on all fronts. And a succesful Superman means we officially have a DCU for the first time. Because without Superman there can be no DCU:wow:. Glad i was able to add clarity:respect:

Maybe he sells alot of action figures. I dont know he success is determined, but its getting a season 2. And fans enjoyed season 1. But see yall are rather obsessed with the numbers because critically speaking we already know this Gunnaverse has yet to take an L:hubie:

Is there even a character portrayl that people universally hated? Ratcatcher 2 doesnt even exist and Gunn made her a star:wow:

Exactly this is why the comparisons are weird. the Synder stuff had to play the fence with the "what of comics were real" and then studio heads forcing MCUisms that don't make sense due to being out of touch.

This Gunn shyt is some purely nikka this a comic book, so some of the debates are weird as fukk lol. You shouldn't be thinking about the past or cross referencing films for this

I think good points were made on both sides. Some points are just more relevant than other points because they line up better with reality. Is Warner Brothers not estatic about the future of the DCU? Sounds like a success. Getting rid of properties that fans anf critics loved because CHICAGO and others will use it as a "gotcha" because they love Snyder? Not a recipe for success:respect:
