I don't like Superman movies but Big Jim is that dude and he delivered.

shyt was Guardians but with Superman. I liked Supes dialogue. It was really campy and throwback. That "ahh sucks" talking he was doing was dope.

I get what you're saying, but Superman wasn't really "campy" in this movie. Yes, he said "Golly" and stuff like that, but Superman was played fairly straight (except the scene in Lex's office lol).

The movie was more lighthearted, but that was more because of the circumstances that happened to Superman rather than Superman himself being silly or campy.

I'm not implying that Supes was campy. I'm saying the dialogue was campy.

I say it was more Animated Series/Justice League than Guardians. The supporting cast was nothing like Guardians and 95% of the movie was set on Earth. Less than 10% of guardians was set in one area. The only thing it really had in common was Krypto, and unlike Rocket, he wasn't taking all movie and cracking jokes with the Fortress robots.

I was kinda referencing the feel of the film…it felt a little goofy to me, Ionno.

He’s a GREAT Superman, like perfect, but the supporting cast and the movie itself…I can just say it wasn’t for me

Superman (2025) takes more inspo from the Guardians movies, in my opinion. In Superman: TAS, Superman was more "mature" in demeanor, and his biological parents weren't diminished. They were treated with respect and gravitas.

Superman in the 2025 movie has basically the same conflict as Star-Lord in Guardians 2. Peter's bio father, Ego, is a genocidal maniac that wants to conquer planets with him. In the 2025 movie, Superman's bio parents, Jor-El and Lara, are genocidal maniacs that want him to conquer Earth. Supes learns to embrace his adoptive parents (the Kents) more by the end of the movie, and Peter learns to adopt Yondu as his father by the end of that movie.

The whole "found family" trope that James Gunn loves + his zany humor.

It was Grant Morrison (maybe a bit of Loeb as well) Superman (All-Star and his Action run) more than Guardians, other than some Gunn script-isms.

If you read Grant Morrison's Superman run, you recognize so much of what Gunn was trying to do here. The team-up shyt isn't something Guardians brought to comic books.
