See I don't think WB gives a shyt about what the critical reception of this movie is, that is what the Batman and shows like the Penguin are for. If this movie has a 30% rotten tomatoes score but makes a billie I think WB will be fine with that. But if this has a RT score of 85% and only makes 700 million...the only other Gunn related DC movie we will see is whatever is in production or post production right now. :pachaha:
Nah, a 85% RT score and 700 million box office for Superman is solid.

Also, you're forgetting that James Gunn is a WB exec. He's the co-CEO of DC Studios and has near free rein to do whatever he wants.

The only person who can fire Gunn is b!tchass David Zaslav, but Superman would have to truly BOMB (financially and critically) for Zaslav to fire Gunn (or scrap his projects).

Dawg, you slow? A big studio like WB doesn’t care about the critical reception of their summer blockbuster? :mjlol:

Not sure why you brought up ‘The Batman’ and ‘The Penguin’. Those are Elseworld projects and have no connection to this film and the DCU.

700 million is not gonna cut it for this movie. 800 million might be acceptable but 700 million is barely over man of steel which they considered a flop.

Depends on what the WOM is like around then. That’s what killed Man of Steel.

You're full of shyt. How about we do a ban bet then that I've "never shyt on DC movies and never praised Marvel movies" if you're so sure about that? :sas2:

And that other fakkit is a cac MAGA poster... he gets half a bar :mjlol:

I can't be full of shyt when another poster has confirmed what I've said :mjlol:

But like i've said in my previous posts to you. We KNOW your gimmick and you can play "stan wars" with your "rival company" counterpart who I tagged in my last post to you.

With the damage Snyderverse did to DCEU or w/e the fukk it's called, 700M would definitely be a win. Superman was probably considered a flop or close to it because it cost 250M and made less than 700M. Generally for a film to break even, it has to make 2.5x it's budget. 250M * 2.5 = 625M. It make 670M. So a superman movie only made 45M in profit AND it was a divisive film. You cant barely breakeven and shyt the bed critically/audience wise as well. What's the saying? Pick a struggle.

If Gunn's Superman breaks even but is critically acclaimed and lays a foundation to launch the other films, WB will be happy.

No, they don't. Summer blockbuster movies are supposed to make money and nothing else. Reviews mean almost nothing to a summer blockbuster movie as long as people go so it.

The transformers movies were damn near universally panned by critics. But they were cranking out somewhere between 600 million and a billion dollars so they kept cranking them shyts out. How many transformers movies is it now? Six? Seven?

Doesn't matter who's "projects" they are, they are connected to the DC universe. Comic nerds make the mistake thinking the average person knows or cares about who's "project" something is or what color underwear Batman wears on Thursday. Ask any random person who liked the Batman movie or Penguin show to name 5 things about it and their is a 99.99% chance the word "elseworld" doesn't come up.

Man of Steel was considered a flop because it barely made a profit AND got mixed reviews.

Also, Man of Steel came out after a string of superhero movies made over $1 billion (The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, and Iron Man 3).

For whatever reason superman doesn't bank like that. Not even a batman/superman could cross a Billy. This one needs to have mad legs but July is pretty stacked. 350 domestic and maybe 400 over seas seems like a safe bet. Trailers are colorful so maybe the darkness of those others was the problem.
