Nah Joss Whedon did it first
Not true and I knew someone would say this:russ:

Whedon's style obviously contains humor, but it's not used in excess or to undermine serious situations. There's a clear line where the MCU replaced the Whedon style with the Gunn style, and that line is Guardians Of The Galaxy. This style is then taken into overdrive with Taika Waititi and Thor Ragnarok

When we talk about undermining humor(Bathos) Guardians 2 has this issue bad

I know it's too late to debate this and nikkas are excited about this new one so what's the point but y'all nikkas are too hard on Snyder's rendition of Superman

He's more like Superman than y'all want to admit
Superman is not my favourite hero but I grew up watching and reading so many series about him that I know his lore pretty well and appreciate what he represents, what his stories are trying to tell. I never agreed with the take that he's so powerful that he's boring, there are plenty of ways to tell a compelling Superman story. This is my problem with Man of Steel. As soon as the kryptonians invade it becomes this boring slugfest between two invincible aliens.

It started with Whedon and escalated from there, Stark joking with Loki in the midst of Loki conquering New York and trying to control him. Hulk confronting Loki etc…

Ironically James Gunn is to blame for that exact format you're describing

The term for it is called Bathos by the way. To undermine serious moments with unnecessary humor and ridiculousness

They overdid that shyt after awhile. It didn't use to be like that in the beginning when Marvel was still trying to find its footing. They became too family friendly to their detriment.

I'm glad this is a hit with critics so far. the amount of people trying to cut off its leg in the name of SNYDER is blowing me. I liked Man of Steel, and even loved the Snydercut. Matter of fact, the Snydercut of Justice League is quite easily my favorite comic book movie of all time.

but you have to know when to give it a fukkin rest. Not to be that person but this movies success is pretty fukkin important to the future of DC. like it could make or break the entire DCU going forward and the fact that people are trying to sabotage it for a dead universe is legitimately irking me. Let that shyt go

That's promising. Why the 8/10? What took points off? I've seen a lot of talk about pacing. For what it's worth I loved Snyder's take and I'll love this one also.
Yeah the pacing is a bit of an issue I think but I wouldn't know what to change, the movie is already longer than 2h. Towards the ends it feels rushed to get to the ending and the aftermath is a bit quick but you'll be the judge of that.

I remember defending Man of Steel like crazy when it came out breh. I think BVS is a flawed but I like too many aspects to call it complete garbage. Then WB even let Zack close it out with the Justice league which I thought was really good. The truth is these mothafukkas weren’t in there watching these movies in the theaters. BVS was supposed to hit a billion dollars easily the masses didn’t fukk with it. I’m ready for a DC universe that resembles the comics and the Bruce Timm/Paul Dini Animated series era That’s why I’m so excited for this Superman movie.
