In Gunn we trust

It is not better than mos.
Or the donner cut.
It is just a good relaunch.
I watched it three times already.
Wed, thurs and today.
Just to see if i really liked it.
Or if i was just into the new car smell.
Plus seeing it.
two days before launch.

In that i still stick to my original critique. That it is a good relaunch.
Yet it suffers by reverting back to tropes.
that eventually remedied supes into a failed draw. That words gained relevency.
Such as phoney and campy. Became the standard buzz words attached to dc content.

Mos is superior.
Creature commandos is way better too.
Donner cut is better.
The batman is infinitely superiro.
Penguin is oscar level goat superior. in the form of made for tv. Incomparison to this.

This is just a good stock relaunch.
Where it feels like the deadpool one soliloquay. Where deadpool breaks the fourth wall. Then tells you they had no budget. to license more characters.
When reynolds endeavor had no budget to pay licensing. Or cgi of more mutant characters.
Where of course superman does not break rhe fourth wall.

the issues of this film is. It does not fix any issues.
that made superman a low draw. That the failure to reinvigorate superman. Resulting in the draw damaging death in print. Plus a subsequent revenue grab fail version of the past dceu. This version goes back in joel schumacher style fashion. To re-introduce the ugly insufferable ungrateful lois. Where luckily lois was not kidnapped. As this lois never acts like. she really likes clark or superman frfr. she even vocally says some fling like dialogue to clark in their initial couple trope interaction as well. Past the trope. that clark is superman. Which could eventually put superman.
back in the nondraw failed draw path. That the previous failed versions of superman suffer from. Imo,.....they need to re-cast lois. Plus create an arc. That resembles how the lois and clark in the mos became down for each other. Which was a variable the past superman audience asked for. This version does a schumacher meets campy 60's batman ideal. In the year 2025. Where it returns.
to the popeye saves insufferrable olive oyl like levels of scust. The only difference is. Superman is written as vulnerable. considering the origin of the main physical on screen antagonist. Creating the dynamic. Of vulnerability that mirrors the pete versus insufferrable eddie brock dynamic. Where in spidey's past was fine. As it originally featured the best gf in comic era mary jane. To act like a loving socially fluid foil. To offset the hatred of brock for peter. Which marvel eould eventually fukk up in print as well. As well as fukk up in an error in casting of maryjane.
In this superman. It reverts back to the insufferable combative ugly ass lois. That coupled with an empty space feeling. When content like the hall of justice is presented.
That the project ran into procurement issues. That deadpool brole the foruth wall to tell the audience about. Featured in my rant befoee getting to the spoiler section of the rant you are currentlh reading. Making it feel like.
no one paid attention. To the criticism. That remedied superman. an almoat close to dead defunct draw. To warrant this relaunch. In a took steps forward to tske several steps back dynamic. That is counterproductive and fails to listen to the original critique of supes to create a relaunch. Hopefully they fix lois. Somehow. Or we wind up right back in the same place.
as before in regards to dc. Where eventually batman over shadows supes. As supes has his backbone stomped out by an ugly insufferrable lois. Similar to clark resembling a hen pecked p*ssy whipped popeye. That drops everything immediately. Then always rushing in. to save this pos lois. Which undermines and has undermined every superman. Where lois is an insufferrable ugly ass bytch. That really shows no care for clark or superman.

Case in point in the first superman film adaptation of our time. This ugly lois dynamic.
shackled the original superman. That to save face. luthors gf miss tesmacher saves supes. As well miss tesmacher lays the lip lock on supes.

This movie stuck with me right now cause I'm thinking about all the possibilities. The thing with Gunn is everything, literally everything in the DC Universe is at his disposal and he will not shy away from using any of the characters, story arcs, etc... This was good but boy did Supes take some L's, felt like I was watching Invincible. My only real gripes with are how they treated his birth parents and Ultraman but outside of that glad this turned out good

Invincible made superman past content relevent.
So ...superman borrowed from that relevence.
While also forgetting that.
invincible's original amazon cartoon portrayal of amber is thought of as the woat.

How can a grown man possibly be worried about Lois? When they actually remedied the problem of the last franchise where everything was about Lois from the second she showed up


This Lois was actually useful ,but not made an integral part of every climactic piece of the movie like MOS Lois who singelhandeldy killed that universe. I dont wanna hear shyt about your so called "hot Lois". Both look mid to me as a black man with no interest in white women. But at least they picked a Lois who looks similar in age. The last Lois looked old enough to be Henry Cavills mom or at least in "milf" territory. And thats exactly what the chemistry was like.


The interview scene alone is better than anything we saw from Lois and Clark in the Snyderverse. The most forced love connection ive ever seen in a comic book film aside from Hulk and Black Widow. But we got @Art Barr talking bout they need to take notes. No,you need to take your meds,your thoughts are running wild right now.


If it seems weird shes not acting like a groupie. Maybe its because we have a Lois here whos actually dating Clark. Rather than a Lois who fell in love with a guy becauase he was super powerful. Kidder and MOS Lois were two peas in the same groupie pod. Did you see how she reacted to

Nah, this was a solid flick though. I thought it had some weird tonal things here and there. But this is a comic book, COMIC BOOK movie. Stayed true to what superman really is. This gonna make some folks heads explode though, not even just politically.

Dont worry,the Batman 2 will be a dud. Im convinced alot of people are pretending to like it just like that original JOKER film. A bunch of people who just like using the word "noir" to sound like deep movie critics. Or acting like a bunch of comic and movie snobs at the same time.

If we wanna talk about what made who a draw. Its gadgets,tech,OP fighting skills. Not doing what Ice T does on Law and Order every week. Thats Something we have yet to get outside of one scene in the Snyderverse. If Gunn delivers on that,people will throw The Batman in the bushes quite easily. But i predict the next movie wont live up to expectations. I said the Penguin was the star of that movie,and low and behold the Penguins show was better than The Batman too. The Batman 2 is going to have to be much better if it has any hopes of being bought into the Gunnaverse. As of right now,we reject the submisson


And folks hated the Flash,but i think it set the table nicely for this new Superman and non grounded Batman we are about to get.

Lets think bigger,this Superman isnt like any other Superman. So a fresh take on Batman will be welcomed too. Just give us moody,obssessed, tortured Tony Stark and we have a good Batman. The tech Lex was unleashing really opens the door for a great Batman


Meanwhile over on "The Batman" tech for a real cape is too much to ask because "hes in his first year". But contact lenses that act as cameras arent a complicated piece of tech at all
