I'ma have to watch this again when I get off work. Saw it in the movies last night at 8:15.....after a fat ass blunt of some good-good and a glass of screwball mixed with mango passion fruit :wow:
When Clark got to work at the Daily Planet, I could feel the heaviness in my eyelids creeping in. I was in and out the whole flick.
I left feeling it was mid. The theater was packed, but none of the jokes landed. I mean none. I never heard 1 chuckle. I could tell Mr. Terrific was supposed to be dropping ill lines but.....crickets. Only me and my shorty chuckled when he said "Hey man I know you aint bring that damn dog!"
3.5 for now....could go up after I watch Cam version later. Funny it's usually the other way around. Happened for Sinners!
Same as my theatre. The humor just wasn't landing that much. Only strong laugh was when Green Lantern revealed the identity and talked about being men of the cloth :mjlol:
Krypto and Mister Terrific was the best thing about this movie.
I guess I'm just not a dog person. By the fifty-hundredth time it came on screen I just thought "...we doing the dog thing again? :beli:"

Overall, I liked the movie. But in the exact same muted way most critics are saying they liked it.

Good: Great characterization of Superman/Clark, Lois and Lex. And their actors did their thing.

Not Good: Kinda predictable, stakesless script. And everything I feared about the movie since Gunn was announced happened:
- James Gunn's obsession with animals and weird creatures
- James Gunn's just-a-little-over-the-top Marvel humor
- James Gunn overstuffing the movie with too many characters and half baked ideas because he'd prefer an ensemble and quirk

When Metamorpho said he couldn't hold the baby because "it makes him transform" all I could think was "James Gunn just wants an action set piece where Superman has to hold a baby..." And at that point it's not even a "Superman" movie. Star Lord could've been holding that baby with no difference.

I hope not. I figured that they were going to make him return as bizarro, they hinted at it when they said that the clone was dumber than him, so Im thinking hell become bizarro in the world within the black heole
