nearly made back it's whole earnings in one weekend and you worried about a week day matinee show attendance

It hasn’t made close to its earning back. That budgeted figure definitely doesn’t account for marketing and they don’t get a 100% cut from the box office. Also, I saw sinners three weeks in a row, was always packed for a rated r movie. This is a blockbuster during the summer, kids aren’t at school.

Damn. I respect you for keeping it a buck with us.

When people talk about “cape slop”, this movie is what I’ll point to.

Bro, these are civilizations on EARTH. Krypton is a dead planet hundreds of thousands of miles away from Earth. No one has heard of this planet until Supes came to earth. How the fukk are they able to decipher a dead language with just that video as evidence?

let me say it again: convergent evolution.

kryptonians evolved along the same lines as humans .. hence bipedal, symmetric, two eyes/ears/, one mouth, sounds made via air rushing over vocal chords, breathe the same air, eat the same food etc etc.

point being that similar creatures are likely to have similar concepts and hence similar language structures.

not one for star-trek i guess. or arrival. space beings could be very different. there is a reason kal el was sent to earth: similarities.

and yes. nano-chick was a supercomputer and they had proof text of the start of the video (the bit supes saw) in both languages.

All they had was a video feed; no book or scroll. Even if they could decipher it wouldn’t take days.

no. she was a super-computer. maybe quantum even. what could take centuries on a standard computer might take minutes on a quantum machine.

I’m not even hating on the movie; I even said I thought it was good. But I call out one plothole and the weirdos bring out the pitchforks and assumptions when movies are supposed to explain things as best as possible. fukkin lame asses.

Fair enough, but most people who watched the movie liked it. So it is what it is.

Studios like Warner Bros don't just rely on box office for a character like Superman, a movie like this will supercharge every piece of media, and merchandise especially since Superman is a cultural icon.

I’m spinning back this weekend the goat Superman movie

After letting it marinate for a day my rating of 6.5/7 is still the same. I liked this and MOS for different reasons where as MOS mightve been too serious this was too goofy. In a perfect comic universe this wouldve been the 4th or 5th movie in the Snyder verse after supes found his place in the world.


This movie also feels like a part 2 or 3 the way it starts. Like we needed to see superman shine and become that god like hero first with Lex in the background fuming like an incel and setting up for this movie instead of just dropping us in the middle of a trilogy
