I guess I have to say this again: The most common criticism people have said about Superman for years is that he's "boring and overpowered".

Corenswet's Superman is meant in part to combat that criticism. Corenswet's Supes is still strong but he's not invincible and faces some challenges. There's literally nothing wrong with that.

Also, ONCE AGAIN, in the movie it's not like he was getting beat up by some random average man. Ultraman is Superman's equal in strength and power. Of course, it's not going to be a walk in the park for Superman to defeat Ultraman.

This is really simple stuff and I don't know why this is so hard for some of you to understand :smh:
Me! I'm people! I can't believe people are mad cuz he didn't Dog walk every opponent he encountered. I'da left if he did that shyt. I coulda stayed home and watched Mighty Mouse if I didn't want the main character to have any stakes. I wonder if comic book heads are ever gonna realize live action movies are made for casuals and not them? It would look stupid in live action for Superman to be spinning a giant ass Kaiju on his finger like a basketball smh.

:mjlol:THERES A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
DOG WALKING EVERY OPPONENT
VS GETTING YOUR ASS WHOOPED
FROM THE START TO THE END OF THE MOVIE.

Ultraman was strong but really dumb according to Lex. Superman should've been able to beat him once the cameras were destroyed but Ultraman was still winning even without Lex's commands.

And why couldn't Superman destroy the cameras himself? We really needed krypto to save Superman for the 100th time?

This Superman seemed pretty weak even with context.

And Superman did beat Ultraman once the cameras were destroyed. Also, some of you seem to think that getting assistance = weak. That's not true.

If that's the case, then there's no need to even introduce other heroes because Superman should be able to defeat every enemy without any help.

Superman was getting his ass kicked and had to dislocate his arm to push ultraman into some debris.

And i didn't say getting assistance means ultraman was weak. The movie clearly tells us that ultraman is essentially mindless and has to rely on commands from Lex.

What they should've done is have Superman take each camera out 1 at a time while defending himself against ultraman. That small change would've made Superman look much stronger, the overreliance on krypto makes him look weak.

Wait, this shyt at 578M currently world wide, made 13M this weekend. Rumored VOD launch on the 26th. If we go by it dropping 50% each weekend, could be at like 590Mish by the time the VOD shyt happens :ehh:

OK, fair enough, I guess. That comes down to Gunn's writing/storytelling.

I still don't think that Corenswet's Superman is weak though.

I take the Krypto shyt like this: it's not a weakness for Superman to "rely" on him. Krypto is his ally, and this Superman is established as a person who deeply values his relations. It wasn't just Krypto he relied on, he went to Metropolis in the belief that the Justice Gang would intervene on his behalf against Israel.

It becomes deeper when you consider that this Superman is struggling with his Kryptonian heritage for the entirety of his flick, and Krypto is a reminder that he's actually not alone. It then becomes even deeper when we find out he's watching over Krypto on behalf of Kara. Half the movie is about him sacrificing himself to save Krypto, the reward is Krypto helping him out in the end.

Superman could've taken those cameras out when he realized Lex was using them.. but he chose to ask Krypto for help instead, I think that's dope and not a weakness for THIS Superman.

Cavill is the one who takes three movies to start trusting others (and that's not a diss, Cavill is damn near my GOAT), this Superman gets berated by Lois for telling "everybody" his secret identity because he trusts them.

"That's the real punk rock"
