Supernatural: Tribes Spinoff Casts First Two Actors
Alums from The Vampire Diaries and Skins have been cast in the spinoff.

by Amy Ratcliffe FEBRUARY 20, 2014

Supernatural's spinoff series, Supernatural: Tribes, is getting one step closer to production: they've cast the first series regulars. According to TV Guide, Nathaniel Buzolic (The Vampire Diaries) and Lucien Laviscount (Skins) will step into the roles of David Hayden and Ennis Roth.

In an intriguing move, David Hayden is shapeshifter. Letting humans remain monsters is something Supernatural usually argues against, so it's definitely a departure to see that type of character will be in the forefront of Tribes. Though Hayden belongs to a big-time monster family in the Windy City, he's embracing his human side. We don't yet know if Hayden will be a hunter or prey.

Then there's Ennis Roth. He's more straight and arrow. Roth was trained in the police academy and tragedy drives him into the hunter lifestyle. His fiancée was "killed in the crossfire of the monster war." And you thought they only fought about pizza in Chicago.

It seems like Roth is the hunter described in the synopsis of the series; he's trying to rid the city of anything unhuman - including the mafia-like families that run the streets.

Viewers won't have to wait long to meet Ennis and David. They'll be appearing in an episode of Supernatural on April 29th, designed as a backdoor pilot for the potential spinoff. The introduction of the new characters will launch Tribes, should it be given the greenlight, and more of the cast will be revealed soon. Given that Supernatural hasn't had any regular female leads since Season 3, it will be interesting to see if any are annouced for Tribes.
