Stop forcing your flow if you have to sacrifice the bar to keep the flow then do that
You have a good rap voice do you have anything with a hard beat or is it all junkie beats
Quad cities?'preciate you listening. it's lowkey my favorite song.
nah, midwest.
like 3 hours away from chicago
Quad cities?
flow and delivery perfect those and dont forget to switch them up at times in the verses to keep the song from being monotone and blending together people lose interest and tune out
Which platform do you prefer as an artist? Soundcloud/apple music/spotify?
Everyone I know who makes money from streams recommend Apple Music you’re the first person who has recommended SpotifySpotify probably. I regret releasing so much on SoundCloud when they offer so little to creators, especially those who aren't paying for a pro membership.
Spotify offers all that shyt for free. Decently in-depth analytics, they offer platforms like allowing any artists to submit to their playlists, they allow you to "spotlight" a song or even a playlist, they setup merchandise connections, and they're always updating blogs with music tips be it for uploading, mixing or songwriting. I feel like you more frequently have the opportunity to reach a bigger audience if you market it right. They will throw you in daily mixes and highlight your latest releases in a playlist for anybody that follows you.
SoundCloud was great but it's become so restricted and I hate the idea of paying yearly to see where my songs are being played. I don't like the way tags are public or setup, their recommendation feature doesn't make much sense to me. SoundCloud is, and this sounds weird, too clout based. It can be too pay for play, imo. They started cracking down on remixes if you get striked for copyright. Their radio is trash. And most importantly, they don't pay at all unless you qualify for a certain sponsorship. Not saying I'm making anything from Spotify but if my Spotify plays matched my SoundCloud, I would have gotten a direct deposit by now. I've made more money off one song on YouTube than SoundCloud has ever even offered.
SoundCloud remains the only platform that allows you to test songs out though and I love it for that. I guess YouTube, too, but I feel like you only put your best foot forward on sites like that and Spotify/apple music/etc.
I don't have much knowledge of apple music, tbh. I haven't even been able to claim my own profile so they're just making almost nothing off me 100%. From what I've heard, they lack in the curation and options/opportunities compared to Spotify, though. Apple Music seems to only be a thing because of iPhones market share; not because it's an actual viable platform for most artists. Regardless of their higher percentages. Before anyone else, I'm sure apple is mainly concerned with the bottom line whereas Spotify could give you cheap publicity by throwing you on fresh finds or something
