(CNN)The Supreme Court allowed President Donald Trump's transgender military ban to go into effect on Tuesday, dealing a blow to LGBT activists who call the ban cruel and irrational.

The policy, first announced by the President in July 2017 via Twitter, and later officially released by then-Secretary of Defense James Mattis, blocks individuals who have been diagnosed with a condition known as gender dysphoria from serving with limited exceptions. It also specifies that individuals without the condition can serve, but only if they do so according to the sex they were assigned at birth.

it's a slippery slope. If you give in to the demands of the transgender soldiers (forcing military to create a whole separate medical/infrastructure system that allows them to serve), then it eventually trickles down to the public and private sectors.

Imagine every employer in the country being mandated to provide sex reassignment surgeries, hormones, and separate restrooms and facilities for transgender employees (which is what the military has to do now). Sounds farfetched, but that's how our system works. Once something becomes federally accepted, the dominoes start to fall soon after.

Personally, I feel conflicted about it. Part of me wants to support their freedom to serve. Another part of me thinks it's wild that my taxpayer money is going to some dude's sex reassignment surgeries and perpetual hormone injections.
