Homeownership…buy now, get seller concessions (check w/ realtor to see if it’s an option in the area) and speak with loan officer (speak w/ loan officer before speaking w/ a realtor) about a buydown options. This will give you temporary relief, for a few years, to explore refi as the market drops slightly. These landlords about squeeze the shyt out of renters.

FHA LOAN too

Fha or Conventional - there’s so many Down payment assistance options for First time homebuyers and you can couple that w/ seller concessions for your buy down. I just helped a client out. I encourage everyone reach out to a loan officer, just to at least know your options. Don’t want these landlords put you in a corner with these lease renewals.

So basically New York will be abandoned if that’s the case? Such a stupid thing to even consider. Need more rent control. Having a place over your head and being able to afford it should be a basic human thing. Charging $1500 plus when the average person is making like $14 an hour is a slap in the face.

America needs another revolt.

The idea is that if you get rid of rent control it would make rent cheaper and also make the quality of apartments better since more supply would be added and there would be less restrictions in making new buildings.

Idk what the outcome will be but I will agree with one thing. Rent control is why many buildings in nyc are ugly and outdated.

:what:

You want people struggling to pay rent now, to buy a home? Do you know what 20% + good credit means?

In the long term. But it would take years for supply to get added to the market. In the meantime renters are fukked.

Economics usually looks at the equilibrium scenario that things settle into years out. It ignores the upheaval in the short term.

Yea it’s all long term. That’s what Boston did but I don’t think Boston officials had the future vision that Boston would be what is today and despite getting rid of it Boston is still very expensive

This will raise property value and hopefully create more housing/industry outside of the city.

The nation is better off with more cuties and more housing options
