If we are talking about the world we are in, things are viewed from the patriarchal perspective.


The man makes the money and has a stay at home wife. Women birth the kids, nurse them, etc and tend to the home.

The deviation is having a 2 income household.

The next deviation? The wife works and the husband doesn’t. So the wife is making the bulk of the money, births the kids, nurses them, etc…………..? I mean, why would a woman want to do that?


I don’t know what you’re trying to say. Stay at home moms started off by being wives who have husbands who don’t want them to be burdened with work while dealing with pregnancy, postpartum stress and healing, tending to a baby and the household, etc at the same time.
If the husband has the means, he will have his wife stay home with the babies instead of putting the kids in daycare, etc. It’s a continuation of being home while pregnant.


In the advent a successful man doesn’t want a stay at home wife, he might still want someone who has a less demanding career so that she can still tend to the home after work.

If you’re on some power couple stuff (which I still like, myself), then you’re both getting this money and probably paying for help in the home (cleaning service, meal prep/delivery, sitters, etc).

A woman making significantly more than you rarely works out. In this case, an actor is one step above rapper in terms of ambition. I say this as someone who has been in the industry. No work is guaranteed. You don’t know when your next check is coming. And y’all can get the fukk out of here with “he could have next” because he could struggle for the rest of his life, and even if he did have next, he’ll have access to all kinds of women he didn’t have before. Do you expect him to stay with her? What happened to men are only as faithful as our options? Why is every struggling man expected to be the most faithful just because a woman stood by him on the come up? Most of those men leave for another woman.

This isn’t a situation like Oprah and Stedman, where Stedman was equal with her when they started dating, and her career took off. Oprah may be a billionaire, but Stedman wouldn’t be living in a one bedroom apartment if they broke up. He’s still a millionaire on his own. I’d say the same for Rihanna, and As Soon As Possible.
