That's his claim to fame besides what he did in the 90's. I know about his other projects as well but space x, mars colonization and hyper loop aren't viable. AI will probably take off but guess what there are mad projects working on this tech. Musk is not the end all be all of cutting edge tech, he's just well known.

The technology that Musk's companies are pushing is a threat to the established power structure. Tesla could be positioning to purchase those 4 plants that GM recently shuttered, talk about a potential PR move.
Investing one's own money into a company is an admirable thing in my opinion, even still he was beholden to investors over the years. Tesla is one of the most shorted stocks on the market and the whole debacle with the SEC is comedy, the SEC only shows it teeth when the Street tugs the leash.

It's refreshing to see someone at that level tell his peers to fukk off. I'm no fan of the space/MARs stuff, but an effort to build more renewable energy and efficient transportation is a positive direction to go.
