He ripped that album and played the character well. You all who actually adore old Em albums are the true suspect dudes as he's always been a schlocky, skill MC. Relapse is all schlock and skill. And he didn't shout on it.

fukk what these nikkas talmbout relapse/refill was crack...I probably listen to it more than any I ever will any album not named MMLP, and while it's certainly not as creative, or nostalgic it's probably got the best overall beat package and shows a real evolution in his rhymes...he revisited similar content/concepts but songs like 3 AM and a lot of rhymes from that little time period were really new flows and techniques that don't even really need to be compared to his old shyt.

What do you think about the song 'Marshall Mathers,' I'm not sure why but It's one of my favorite songs of his. He rips those pop artist and it's hilarious when he is imitating that fakkit pop group before his second verse, and he destroyed ICP with that flipped line about Slim Anus

I was blown out by the skill he flexed on that album. It was exactly what I want an Eminem album to be.
Relapse is top 3 in his catalouge imo after MMLP & SSLP people just weren't feeling the accent, which didn't bother me at all. Lyrically the nikka was on point.
Ever since he got convinced Relapse/refill was trash he's been making that Call of Duty ass music which is fine, but keep that shyt off the albums and on game/movie soundtracks

The problem with relapse/refill was that he stuck to that generic song structure; 3 verse and a corny ass hook between all of them. His shock value stuff wasn't really that great; sounded like he was trying too hard most of the time. That, and, like all his albums since SSLP, it's too long.
It had some good tracks though; Ganja/Deja Vu/Beautiful and, of course, Recovery had "So Bad", which I thought was dope as fukk, even if he was screaming his ass off.
I personally don't mind if Em occasionally comes with struggle bars; just as long as he gets the overall feel of the song right. Those snippets from the ads sound bring as fukk, so I have zero expectations for his next album.
If I learn the Bass Brothers are involved though, that might change some things.

TES has more standouts obviously, but it plays a hell of a lot better.
