Three arrested in California after Lauderhill killing
533x300

Three of five suspects who have been on the lam since the February killing of a Lauderhill man have been arrested in California, a police spokesman said.

The fatal shooting happened in the predawn hours of Feb. 11 after a married Virginia man brought three women he met in downtown Fort Lauderdale to his Lauderhill condo, police said.

After Emerald Sr., 44, and the women arrived at his place one of the women let two men in. A struggle took place and Sr. was shot to death.

Those two were extradited to Broward County and appeared on Friday at a first-appearance court hearing. They were denied bond and each is being held in the Broward Main Jail, records show.

Arrested by police in Eureka, Ca. was Juan David Uribe Carvajal, 23, of Orlando, Santiago said.

The arrests were made in early June, he said. No other details about the arrests were available.

Alejandra Porras, 25, of Homestead, remains at large. The fifth suspect, a young woman in a red dress, was unidentified.

Sr., who was previously known as Martin Young, ran a tire business in Virginia but also spent time in Lauderhill. His wife, Nakeeha Young, helped raise $10,000 for a reward for any tip that led to the suspects’ arrests.
