i hope swaysuniverse.com posts the video of this. i want to see the collective look of fear when they were asked to spit. TI sounded like he was gone off a couple.

I was watching the Sway interview with 3rd Bass and Pete Nice asked Sway if he still asks rappers to rap on the show and sway hit him with the :sadcam:. He said they can't do it anymore. Doesn't expect really anyone to be able to freestyle and most of the time he can't get them to even spit a written verse. :stop:

Really, DJs and radio personalities only ever really ask certain rappers to spit on air now a days...established acts like T.I. are rarely if ever asked or even expected to...it's almost exclusively reserved for "up and coming or lessor known rappers who want to show and prove" type shyt...having said that "established act bringing his crew of rappers for a radio interview" is one of the few instances where you kinda naturally assume muh'fukkas will be expected to "freestyle"...i don't know who was all there, but that Doe-B ended up being the one to spit makes sense and I'm suprised Big Kuntry was even in the room...it would surprise that Dro or Bobby wouldn't though, they're more than capable and have done so in the past

I woulda respected someone pulling out their phone and spitting something off it more than freezing up when asked to do your fukking job (rap)

rapping and being put on the spot to freestyle are two very different things.

i guarantee you,if you walked up on 99% of rappers and said " rap, right now"...they'd all give you the :what::whoa::rudy:

granted, them nikkas should've done some research on the show they're going on ( as anybody should to know what to expect)...but still, the fact remains that not being able to freestyle≠ you can't rap.

TI said "you already know I don't do freestyles..":dahell:
Big Kuntry said "we ain't come up like them nikkas in NY...on the corner battling. We just pull out them things." :shaq2:
Sway was like :what: "What happened to using your knuckles?l
Ti said "oh we do that too.."

Y'all think it's cool for them to do that or are they obligated to spit something on radio interviews? I think they looked real :flabbynsick:

Cincinatti does too:youngsabo:

A lot of excuses being thrown around in here and some typical completely made up regionalism being thrown in to deflect.

When crews show up to do promo they're expected to spit. Even the Southern artists. We've lowered the barrier of entry into Hip Hop to the point where maybe we should just change the name so the low expectations having mfers have their entertainment and the non-mouth breathers can have theirs. Its a shame White people ran the word twerking into the ground. That would have been perfect for the genre of swag rappers who can't freestyle or even pretend to.

Brooklyn son
shyt is corny man. If rap is your profession, if rap is your art, if rap is your passion, if rap is your skill set, you look forward to displaying your talents. Who cares where you come from, you rap, then rap fakkit. nikkas want checks and want people to pay attention to their projects. I don't get it. "Why freestyle? They not gonna get new fans from it." Idiot he is on radio! Radio!! Promotion in its highest form for the music industry! Rap is sad nowadays. Sad sad sad.

Yeah, but I realize that people that battle and freestyle well aren't very good song makers. There are exceptions, though.

It's cool, we already know them nikkas can't rap. I'd rather not see them bum ass nikkas disrespect the art anyway.

Nobody freestyles..

There's a long list of good song writers that have showed killed it with on the spot bars.. If your that good of a song writer you can spit a written, and kill it.
