Took years for me to tip a couple of bucks when i dine in. NEVER have I or NEVER will I give a tip with takeout. These places are outrageous for food that is already mediocre and overpriced anyway.

I live in Japan half the year. No tipping required unless I’m on base.
:blessed:
Shout out to companies who pay livable wages.
:salute:
Here in Atlanta. I tip at least 10% every time. Good service gets 15%. It sucks but it is what it is. I’ve worked in the industry for two months as a summer job. The waitresses didn’t tip out to the dish washers though.

Convenient store workers, drive-thru restaurants are asking for tips now and even self-service kiosks as well. Places that never used to ask for tips are starting to do it now.

It’s not about being broke. It’s the fact the everyone is starting to get in on the tip culture.
Yeah I'm not tipping for any of that shyt. Just because they give you the option doesn't mean you have to

I’m black, they expect me to not tip anyway and their service generally shows that. I’m not about to tip anyone after getting less than service to prove their prejudice wrong, Wakanda shyt is that? This is the job that YOU chose and you accepted the pay knowing that tipping isn’t mandatory. I used to hand the wait person before I ordered, so that they wouldn’t ruin my date with bad service but I shouldn’t have to bribe people to not be an a$$hole towards me.

If a place adds automatic gratuity, I don’t go. Black owned businesses in Atlanta are notorious for doing that and they stipulate that you have to get the fukk out within two hours. Cool, this bytch won’t last more than a year or two anyway.

LOL @ paying a tip for takeout. Wow ya'll are funny lol

Takeout: $0 tip
Dine In: $1 or $2
Delivery: The only time I truly tip. Because there is actually real work, time, and stress involved to travel to get the food to my front door

i dont mind tipping waiters... what makes me mad is damn near every business having that touchscreen debit card machine that begs for tips in giant fonts. i wouldnt leave a tip for really really bad service, but i'd walk out before it got to that point in the first place.

if they wanna ask for tips at the counter, they can have a glass jar with cash in it. im pretty sure the manufacturers get a portion off that 10/20% tip button.

Nah, still a waste of money. The restaurant workers are not going above and beyond compared to another restaurant worker to cook the food for you

I actually will tip people who deliver, because that job is hard as hell. Fighting traffic, spending time trying to find the random apartment or office, in the middle of bad weather, just to give the food right in front of someone's door. I will gladly give extra money for that

Sorry, can't give extra money to someone who's only walking from the kitchen to the front desk lol

These threads always attract the "if you can't afford to tip then don't eat it out" crew just to lowkey flex like they some fukkin' ballers. :comeon:
It ain't about flexing. Stop supporting a business with an operation you disagree with.
Man just raise the prices on stuff so I don't have to tip anymore.
They'll complain about that shìt too

The attitude in here shows why.
