‘Luke Cage’ Canceled by Netflix

Netflix has canceled “Luke Cage.”


News of the cancellation comes four months after the superhero action drama from Marvel Television debuted its second season on the streaming service — and just days after Netflix pulled the plug on another Marvel show, “Iron Fist.”

“Unfortunately, ‘Marvel’s Luke Cage’ will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series,” Netflix and Marvel Television said in a joint statement.

A source tells Variety that talks for a third season had taken place, but that Netflix ultimately decided that one would not be feasible.

i still havent finished the 2nd season, thats how bad it was. People finally realized the dude playing Luke Cage can't act for shyt. One of the most wooden performers i ever seen. I was rooting for the bad guy in this 2nd season which pretty much means the show is over since i could care less for the main character, or any character on the show tbh. It needs a major overhaul and reboot.

Disney owns Hulu, they'd probably place all their marvel programming there.

All these marvel shows are getting cancelled. Netflix isnt even promoting the new season of daredevil thay just dropped I had to use the search feature to find it. Disney probably upped the license price to ridiculous levels to get ready for their own streaming service they dropping.

Yeah but the supporting character carried his awful one dimensional acting. Bushmaster was fukking amazing. Shades, Mariah...Misty Knight

And I can't take Iron Fist seriously.

Dare Devil and The Punisher have been the best ones for me thus far. I was deeply moved by Jon Bernthal's portrayal of Frank Castle who is one of my favorite fictional characters.
