Well, that did happen for the Wii when the Wii U came out. Though tbh the Wii imo is the worst major console, we have seen in gaming imo. Not counting failures like the Virtual Boy.
There were no games even by Nintendo standards. The Mario Galaxy games were dope. You had the worst Zelda game in the franchise. Metroid Prime 3 ok I will give them that. Mario Kart on the system was basically been forgotten compared to every other entry besides the GBA one. Super Smash Bros entry is considered the least favorite by far in the franchise. Besides that, they were carried by the motion controls gimmick and people got tired of Wii Sports. Also, no Pokémon. shyt looking back the Wii is even more ass than I remember

. Also, it honestly wasn't that much powerful then the Gamecube. This shyt absolutely lived and died by the motion controls.
Consider how huge Pokémon is, casuals will get a switch just to play Pokémon. As well as Animial Crossing, Splatoon, Zelda and Mario. Nintendo handhelds always sell great which casuals love. Most Switch 2 games would be 1440P Docked and 720P - 1080 Handheld. Which for causals that is more than enough. Casual support ain't going anywhere as long as they keep bringing 1st party games and 3rd party ones that appeal to them.
