i bought the punky brewester box set jus for this episode...n the one when cherri's lil cousin got up under the sink n drunk the bleach

james mannerisms... n chico comin in with his blonde anita baker do.....kills me... n lil punky was damp...

Bobby Debarge's falsetto was in a league of it's own. He really set the tone and mark for how El Debarge would approach his music. But El in his own right, is a talented singer, writer, and producer. And El's piano playing is among the best.

El's cover of Marvin Gaye's "After The Dance" is classic:




James, Bunny, Randy and Chico are all talented as well. James's voice is nice as is Randy, Bunny and Chico. That whole family of brothers and sister are so talented.


This is a 5 star, instant classic thread. :salute:

quik could have revived em again...nobody else wa fukkin wit em....quik open em to a new fan base too..i still wanna see both james n el do a album produced by nobody but quik...

jus make sure quik leave the coke in san bernadino..kuz everytime they get around quik...james n el get a coke charge

Yeah, I remember hearing that Quik and El were suppose release an album together. That El interlude is one of my favorites of their collaborations. It maybe my favorite song off that album. El was singing like no other and Quik's production was excellent.

I also enjoyed James' contributions to Quik's albums. James did his thing on that "Divorce Song" joint. One of my favorites as well.
