Switching From iPhone 4 to Galaxy S3

My update is coming up soon and they Galaxy S3 is looking . I've been a mac head for a few years and I feel like I need to see what else is up outside the curtains.

I do have 2 questions about it though.

1) What apps do you use for your corporate/work email? I've read that the stock android email app is .

2) I know Android is flexible off top and the people I know with the phones haven't rooted them. Is it worth it to root the phone off top or should I only do it for specific funcitonality?
