kinda stressed about this....i like my current gym to a point. they've taken out the shake bar, no towels, some machines have broken and they just remain broken. nikkas make a big deal if someone turns on the fan...mind you this gym is down in a basement. now for what it is and the price you cant really complain. my contact running out and im gonna switch to a different gym. i may just go straight to doing boxing again and keep a cheap membership to planet fitness.

anyone fukks wit planet fitness?

Thinking of switching to my university's gym and try this Gold's Gym...got a free seven day pass. I want to walk in :ooh: that everyone is bigger and more advanced than me...

if its cheap and has a power rack :manny: shakes, towels etc are really extra

i refuse to pay more than 15 a month for a gym because of what i personally need from a gym(which is just barbells and weights)

its not that i use the shakes and towels they provide its that it was one of the perks i signed up for and i only bought a shake once when i forgot my own stuff at home. it just feels like the gym is falling off. Besides i went to go check out the planet fitness and my nikka that gym shyts all over my gym. to be honest, the air conditioning alone had me hooked. my reg gym is a cot damn sweatbox and everything is kinda pushed in there. the planet fitness is spaced out. im doing the switch i feel i can get better workouts at the cheaper gym and more motivated to go more if im comfortable working out there.

Where do you work out, Synergy?

fukk em :pacspit:

I know a lot of people who go to PF... they like it. Sounds really good for the money too. There's one around the block from me, $10/mo. I was considering doing that shyt just to have a place to shower by my job

This is where I do the majority of my lifting at:

No towels, nothing like that. Straight griminess. And I love it there. I bring my own towel, go in, get it in, shower, keep it moving.

They're going to go out of business soon.

I've seen this happen both as a customer and in the line of doing business; for gyms the signs are obvious:

  • Sudden drop off in maintenance and repairs in broken equipment
  • Reduction of services, especially towels not being replaced
  • Familiar faces going away (staff termination)
  • Messed up/broken locker room and showers

They're a great deal because they are charging too little to their members to even upkeep the business. Gyms are notoriously bad at paying payroll taxes and they get in debt easily. They get a tax lien or get behind on that loan...and they go out of business in like 5 weeks...seen it happen before.

The problem will solve itself soon lol.

The best workouts are the empty gyms:ahh: As other stated, the tvs, towels, and the rest are just extra. We all know the popular gyms w/ extras are mad crowded

:manny: ive been to a few rugged gyms and i only need what i need

no towels, treadmill displays half broken, rusted weights :manny:

all i need are freeweights that i can rack 200+ on, a treadmill i can dial up the level to 9.5. and a bar to do pullups on. anything else is a worthless luxury.

Im in there to bang out sets for an hour and change and leave. Not for "culture" (like this rep tried to say to me at Crunch fitness :childplease:)

in NYC you see that alot they add things like towel service etc to give them a reason to charge you 80+ a month:scusthov:
