Swizz Beatz to Face Off With Timbaland in Beat Battle - XXL
July 15, 2017: Once again it’s on! Another epic beat battle between two hip-hop super producers is set to take place, and this one will involve
Swizz Beatz and
Timbaland.
Swizzy set the stage for the battle to pop off while on stage at the Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor press conference in Brooklyn, where he taunted the Virginia beat maker. “Timbaland want to talk shyt too,” Swizz says to the crowd. “So everyone out there tell Timbaland we can have a battle, we can do whatever he want to do.”
Of course, word got back to Tim who quickly accepted the challenge via a video he posted on Instagram. In the clip, Timbo sits alone in a room with the Game of Thrones theme playing in the background. “Swizz, you have woken up Timbo Snow,” he says referring to the GOT character, Jon Snow. “Challenge accepted. I’m with the smoke. That’s right. You hear that Game of Thrones. You have woken up the king.”
Swizz is apparently trying to make these beat battles a regular thing.
Swizz battled it out with Just Blaze back in February. Since then, other names have been brought up as possibly going toe-to-toe including Pharrell vs. Timbaland, The Alchemist vs. El-P, DJ Premier vs. Pete Rock and
Havoc vs. Just Blaze.
No date has been set for Swizz and Tim to square off, but when they do, it should be an epic event.
