Movie audiences are not fukking with Sydney Sweeney right now, and her doubling down on that American Eagle ad the week this movie came out didn't help.

nikkas in the film room acted like I was crazy for pointing this out :francis:

I said this in that other thread:

This sexy sloth looking b*tch has the IQ of a bowl of oatmeal.

Obviously she can't completely denounce the ad, she's a spokesperson for it. However, she could've just said something like "that wasn't our intention"....not even anything crazy....and she completely dropped the ball as if her break out role wasn't on "Euphoria". I shouldn't even have to explain why her stance on this runs in opposition to that series.

I don't know what her end game is, as MAGA doesn't support the arts. She's gonna f*ck around and end up doing Tubi level movies with Gina Carano if she ain't careful.

The film industry is hurting because of competition from alternative media and Netflix. The explosion of social media & subscriptions has also diminished television and mainstream media platforms of old like MTV,E etc. I remember growing up when YouTube was in its infancy, new movies and stars alike would pass through a predictable pipeline consisting of mostly TV coverage, thus they would become apart of the mainstream zeitgeist. Now that’s pretty much over and audiences are used to watching “stars” (influencers) and consuming media that’s configured exactly to their preferences. That’s why hollywoods going all in on existing IP’s and adaptations of books and comics because it’s much safer to run a movie based on something with an existing audience than some risky new shyt that’s harder than ever to market (even if it’s good).

That’s why when you look at Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya’s careers they took off in different directions with their film choices. Zendaya did DUNE and Spider-Man which were safe bets. Every time I hear of Sydney she’s either starring in some uninspired rom-com or some A24 arthouse stuff, which isn’t bad but won’t help you be established. She’s also MAGA, which is a PR nightmare considering most of her audience came from progressive young women who watched euphoria. I give her like 2-3 years tops before she fades unless she gets a role in a big film.

Meanwhile the REAL Snow Queen, Ellie Fanning's Predator, beat her with $80 mill :ohlawd:
She was looking so succulent in it, I wanted to save her and was yelling for her like Stephon in Django
Dont understand her or The Rock doing these stupid ass movies instead of the shyt like that that people want to see.

bytch better join Fast & Furious 18 :mjlol:

Wait, wait, wait.

So she plants her flag and markets herself to a crowd that hates homosexuality and considers any and all forms of media featuring any main protagonist that isn't a heterosexual white male as "woke," which in turn alienates her from minorities & the gay community. She then goes and stars in a film where she plays a lesbian boxer that's "strong," homely looking, and doesn't need men.

Who was your target audience? Who was going to support this film beyond the people standing to profit from it?

What a stupid, basic bytch. :laff:
