You’re getting closer but still off the mark.

You claimed that secular Arab nationalists pose no threat to Israel (and haven't done so since the Cold War) while simultaneously claiming that secular Arab nationalists provide logistical support for other actors to attack and undermine Israel. So obviously, there's a logical contradiction in your claim.

Either they pose a threat or they don't. You have to choose one - otherwise you'll perpetually fall into a logical trap of your own making.

If you look at post #98 in this thread, I stated that the West and Israel have attempted to destroy secular Arab nationalists. This is because they can bridge sectarian divides to focus on the Zionist threat. To fulfill this plan, the West and Israel have supported at various times the Afghan Mujahadeen, Hamas, Al-Nusra (which has just taken Damascus), and likely terrorist groups in West Africa.

The contentions that you have to deal with is the following:
A - That Syria's support of Hezbollah, Iran, and other actors did NOT pose a threat to Israel (which is pretty impossible)

B - That the West and Israel hasn't tried to destroy secular Arab nationalists using religious extremists (hard to do given what just happened in Syria, among other examples)

C - Secular Arab nationalists have traditionally and still pose the greatest threat to Israel - hard to do because no jihadist army has been able to replicate the military success of 1973.

Ah I see you're being pedantic and avoiding the direct question at hand. I will restate it once more. If Assad's Syria was the greatest threat to Israel, why are the military assets of the state only being targeted after its collapse?

Israel has always triangulated its policies to ensure that no particular opponent gains supremacy or tactical advantage. The same policies deployed to weaken their opponents have targeted old school Arab nationalists and Islamists alike. The former were at the vanguard of military opposition to Israel in a bygone era. There isnt a single example of the Syrian state deploying its military assets against Israel since the 1970s.

The primary factor behind the collapse of Assads rule was his desire to rule a family-run police state till time immemorial.

I see you're being reductive again - why are you singling out Assad's Syria as the greatest threat rather than as I said: secular Arab nationalism as a whole?

Maybe you should go back and re-read what I said. Start with post #65.
