Well, obviously. But I'd rather not have these militant groups gain more ground. There's really no suitable replacement in sight.

So you support the status quo? Allah give me the strength!

I also thought you were all about getting rid of the European imposed borders!

No, I don't support this situation, but unfortunately, there's no happy ending in sight. The country's divided as hell and the war has been going on for like 4 years now. Countless lives have been lost and cities have been destroyed. You've got a desperate and vulnerable populace that could easily be manipulated by extremist sides.

And I don't get what the 2nd sentence has to do with this nor do I recall speaking on this.

Have you been following this war since the start?

The Syrian military has literally lay waste to opposition. The FSA for example is no longer in existence; its fire was put out by the SAA. The Syrian military is no longer fighting the Syrian opposition but Sunni extremist around the globe. GCC countries have used the Sunni card to recruit brain dead jihadist across the world to die in a cause that has nothing to do with Islam. This is the issue. Anytime Assad himself needed foreign assistance in Hezbollah, the opposition lost. Hence why I said economical free Iran will probably change the game in the favour of Assad.

FINALLY! Someone who has actually been following this issue. Yea if it wasn't for Turkey and Jordan letting these Jihadists through their porous borders then Assad wouldve been won. The "REBELS" have manpower and lots of cannon fodder. As far as 88 and his "barrel bombs" comments i do not get it because all bombs have one job, which is to kill people. I do not see 88 or the media speaking about the Hell cannons ISIS and other "rebels" regularly launch on civilian populations.

Assad is not perfect nor am I caping for him, but whats the alternative? Ok we let the "rebels" take over Syria and it becomes another Libya so now what? Syria is SECULAR they do not want to live under Sharia law, and if they object they will be slaughtered just like the countless civilians killed by these "rebels." So whats really the point here? Ok Assad steps down who's going to replace him? How will they govern? Will it keep the sunni "rebels" happy and at bay? No tinfoil, no cape. I have syrian friends who have families that live in these war torn areas and they much prefer Assad and a secular Syria then Sharia law.

The whole fukking civil war could have been over with years ago if the US had properly supplied the moderate rebels (like the Kurds) and provided them with more intel. Now, what little the US sent as aid has been taken by ISIS and the US is just striking at random ISIS targets through air strikes which just rallies more people to the ISIS cause as they're suddenly turned into martyrs that are fighting the western decadence and colonialism.

Rest of the world:trash:

More rebels equals more targets. Plus the whole country is in shambles o whoever wins has quite a mess to clean up. So our enemy (Syria) is weakened, thus making our allies (really Israel) more safer. They got exactly what they wanted

There are two issues

The endless supply of these terrorists’ and open border policies of Turkey.

When Assad wins in one area, the terrorist move to another region and Assad follows and the same process starts again. It usually occurs in regional areas. He is fighting too many fronts at once.

One has to question why secular Turkey allows Jihadist a free reign in their country to enter Syria? If the borders were closed and this was truly JUST a Syrian civil war. Assad would have won years ago.

But now with Iran nuclear finished, I expect Iran to throw its weight more into this conflict.

Erdogan wanted Assad out, he called for him to step down

Turkey has now changed course but they're attacking the PKK instead of ISIS exclusively

ISIS can be defeated in 3 weeks with proper coordination

Syria wasn't a real concern for Israel. They bombed and killed who they needed to at will.
