It has to start with the family. Far too many unstable homes in our community. The family is the most basic vehicle to maintain wealth but we’re too entitled and prideful to see it. The greatest wealth transfer in history is underway and black people won’t participate.

And the attitudes among the black elite suck. All they are into is blowing money and being flashy. nikkas will literally say “well I can’t die with it” and think they are the smartest people in the world:what:

The culture gets in our way but that may be a discussion for another day.

You're being obtuse, Donald Trump is an oligarch not a dreg if you want to be technical about it. Dregs are the bottom level/undesirables of society. You don't see what people supporting dusted out meth-heads, hell they didn't give a fukk about the drug epidemic until middle class becky start blowing for 40 buck to get a few onces of brown.
Lol cacs always idolize bikers and other cac "tough guys". Almost every race idolizes the "gangsters" in their culture

You most have never worked at one of those communities centers or volunteered
Nyggas don't give a fukk
Nyggas watch too many movies and think some Lean on Me type shyt gonna happen
I see community leaders who work hard fighting these problems
you can't make people change they have to want to
some do but a lot don't
I have before. The point I'm making here is: is the community worse off if those organizations don't exist? Its very easy to blame people, but its harder to look into why things are the way they are. Peoples spirits are very vulnerable. People who are drinking and smoking away their money aren't even enjoying themselves after a certain point. They're just doing it to feel less depressed.

If we had less stigma around mental health and the resources to help people who were abused and neglected as kids, they're less likely to keep that cycle going. Parents don't care, teachers don't care, cops don't care, and generally the govt doesn't care. If youre poor in America youre basically on your own.

I dont know what moral changes nigguhs think they can make to overcome white supremacy and capitalism. And like yall like to preach on here that black folks aint a monolith. Too many different opinions and agents and beefs and arguments amongst black folks for me to believe some huge collective efforts are going to be happening.

Systemic racism is indeed how we got to this point, but there’s no excuse for why we’ve chosen to stay here. And for so long. Far too often you hear people use systemic racism as an excuse for all the present day drugs and violence in our community. All the shootings everyday throughout all of the major cities. All of the absentee father issues.

Systemic racism caused those issues, yes, but we can’t just come to that conclusion, and then stop.

The only conclusion we should be drawing from systemic racism, is that we didn’t get like this just because we’re somehow inherently “bad people”, as cacs and systemic racism will have you think.

The conclusion that we are to draw from acknowledging systemic racism is one that allows us to see ourselves for who we truly are, not who systemic racism has made us become. We can look at systemic racism and see clearly that we were psychologically engineered through slavery and Jim Crow to have some of the faults we have today.

However, systemic racism is NOT an excuse for why we’ve chosen to stay this way.

Last month when two car loads of Black people drove across the city at 3am and unloaded 150+ rounds into another Black home, killing a 3 year old boy in his sleep and riddling his 4 year old sister’s legs with bullets - that cannot be blamed on systemic racism. The constant glorifying of this type of violence in our rap music, is not systemic racism. These are conscious decisions being made by people who know the consequences of said decisions. That’s not systemic racism.

We need to start holding ourselves accountable for the constant self-inflicted tragedies that continue to bring so much pain to the community. Not systemic racism. That only tells us why we had such a bad start, it doesn’t excuse us for continuing to destroy our own selves.

And yes, I’m using us and we. If you feel you are not a part of what’s going on and that “long as you and yours straight…”, you’re in the wrong thread.

I agree with 50-60% of your assessment, especially as someone that was in Cincinnati for this past Halloween weekend:picard:

But systematic racism is especially on the rise cause of everything that happened in 2020, I work in government at a local level, your metropolitan development commission, parks department, and public works dept all work in conjunction to fukk over African Americans/Poor Americans,

And unfortunately it's by design....:usure:....

Grow up. Have some accountability.

Systemic racism isn’t to blame for this, in 2021:

Systemic racism has completely destroyed the psyche of many black folks to the point that all the dysfunction mentioned in the OP and seen in that video is just normal

No they don't CACs may like to watch sons of Anarchy and admire their toughness but you never see them let bikers beyond a certain point in town in real life. I live with Italians in NJ, they hate mafia dudes.

I can say speaking as am upper middle class Black man who came from the projects, a lot of Black people with money are on some 'I got mine' shyt so I'm good. I tried to bid for a space to bulld a supermarket and getting likeminded people is was like pulling teeth because I wanted it built in a what used to be a rough neighborhood. The other thing, for as rough as it was pre integration we had built an infrastructure, we as Black men haven't built that even with some people with money as a collective. Too much of our money is built on sand if that makes any sense.

Those have to be granted by gate keepers.
If they haven't granted to you that which you would consider to be just and sufficient by now, they never will.

Thast why all of our black money is in entertainment but we frequently see how limited their reach and influence really is when shyt gets real.
does OP even have a masters degree?
Black academia has not done anything more for the masses of Black people than the entertainer.

This is a mind blowing revelation that has never before been presented to me. I feel my life has changed.
Systematic racism isn't just a buzz word
It actually means something
Black people as a whole are not going to catch up
The damage has been done, mentally and financially
You can't just work hard your way out of that
