I see what you mean OP. Two main differences:

- I don't think sza has really gotten that mainstream push Tinashe got yet. I mean label push yeah but TDE is weird. Kendrick is the only one who really picked up in the mainstream. Q is kinda in C list purgatory, Soulo fell off, Jay Rock never made it, Isiah is disregarded. So it may just be TDE or just the Tinashe treatment
- Tinashe aint no damn average artist nikka

But yeah man it's hard for attractive black females to break into the upper tier it seems. Makes you wonder what did Rihanna do so right?

She a habitual liar, a common trait among the smutted. Even the freckles is fake

Rhianna made herself relateable to black women with Round of Applause and got a cute haircut ratchets could love:pachaha:....wit tinashe they tried skipping over getting black women to love her first, and going straight for a pop audience since she can do pop too....wont work for a black artist though:manny:

Sza is crazy talented. I can understand if you not in to her music, but I don't understand the hate for her.
She's not, and her image is contrived and clearly recently-created.
That being said, she'll always have a fanbase with people who like to listen to music to give themselves an image, so she'll be fine.

Not every good artist is going to blow up snd be a star... they'll just have a decent career. That's what I see with SZA and that's cool. It's not her fault though. If radio had balance like it used to she might be in a better place. I'm listening to her album and it sounds like an artist trying to be herself while also trying to reach for a radio hit. It's sad what these people got to go through just to try and make it out here these days.

She shoulda never strayed from this.
She wrote it. Produced it. Directed the video.
Got fans from it.

She signed a deal cuz she got thirsty for fame.

This is the Tumblr-level hot garbage that could have helped her go Gold if she'd kept it.
This was back when she was wearing head wraps and appropriating culture, she was on the right path.

Rihanna is a Pop star, TOTALLY different lane. In Pop it's a huge plus to be attractive
And remember she had that exoticness to her because she was from the Caribbean and had a heavy accent so that added to her appeal.
And i believe she came out towards the end of the 1st Caribbean/Reggaton craze.

As hard as that is to agree to i have to :mjcry:.

AKA why someone like teedra moses never blew up.
Why tho? If Black Women alone support an artist they should have no problem selling well, Black women have incredible spending power. Then you already know if they fukk with it the dudes they mess with will to, i think we need to start taking responsibility.

If we want something we should put some money up and show that we want it instead of complaining when something we dont support monetarily fails.

Some of tinashe's music is good, sza is just really average
Her fanbase is like 99% shea butter woke hoes anyway
 If that's the case, she'll flop. Black Online SJWs have a reputation for being broke-ass in-debt college graduates with worthless degrees.

Listened to a few songs from SZA album last night with my girl.

Don't you ever compare this trash to tinashe again.

SZA's music is mostly one note and the lyrics was just awful virtue singalling and not much else. It's like she just randomly mentions shyt to get people to prick up their ears and pay attention to her voice over the beat. "STARS! AQUARIAN! PATRIARCHY! NATURAL HAIR! YOGA! nikkaS AINT shyt! CRYSTALS! EAT THIS p*ssy!" This is why people say she's fake deep and it's true.

Doves In The Wind gotta be one of the worst non-Lil Yachty songs I heard this year

:hhh:These lyrics
[Verse 3: SZA]
You could never trivialize p*ssy
But a bum nikka like you would try it (p*ssy)
I know what you really 'bout
High key, your dikk is weak, buddy
It's only replaced by a rubber substitute

We ain't feelin' you
Think I caught a vibe, kinda feel a nikka
You could touch the booty if you like, I ain't trippin' on ya
(Such a nice girl, SZA)
I'm really tryna crack off that headboard
And bust it wide open for the right one
'Cause you that one
Yeah, you that one
Like doves in the wind, hey, hey
That p*ssy, like doves in the wind, hey, hey
p*ssy like doves in the wind

I will make you beg for it
I wanna see you call out

:hhh:It's not just the unattractive raunchiness, this shyt is really wack. Don't let Kendrick ghostwrite for no females, please.

I gotta say out of all the recent rnb girls to come out Jhene Aiko seems to be the only one who's being developed well by her label. They managed to portray her image as a intimate, soulful reclusive songbird well and it meshes with her sound well. And the contrast with her image makes delivery of raunchy lines more suprising or even cute compared to other artists.

Just thinking about it Tinashe or SZA couldn't have delivered the "eat the booty like groceries" and got the same reception Jhene did.
SZA has gotten the online push that could very easily be mistaken for a major label push in this day and age.
That may be it. I've met only 3 people who can confidently pronounce her name and 2 are only paying attention from this album run.

And Q has gotten heavily pushed as well, especially with Oxymoron. Also: Jay Rock was the original famous one, he had a popular song with Wayne maybe 8 or 9 years ago, and brought TDE to the forefront.
Oxymoron was his biggest push and it seemed to be received really well. However it just seems like nobody gives a fukk about Q himself. As a star he's pretty much in the same purgatory as 2chainz after his 2nd album till now.

Nobody cares about no Jay Rock, wayne got songs with everybody:russell:
Rhianna made herself relateable to black women with Round of Applause and got a cute haircut ratchets could love:pachaha:....wit tinashe they tried skipping over getting black women to love her first, and going straight for a pop audience since she can do pop too....wont work for a black artist though:manny:
Not really. I mean she was a pop artist primarily for most of her career. It didn't seem like people really got behind rihanna the person until the album where she had red hair after the Chris Brown incident.

If her career ended around the disturbia era she would just be the voice behind a bunch of forgettable hits. Like what made her pull so far ahead of Keri Hilson (proven hitmaker), Rita Ora and the like?
