SZA talks about how Punch @ TDE restricted what songs were and weren't on "SOS".

It's not finessing. It's more so producers having sound designers now. You have a main producer who is basically sampling a composition made by a sound designer. They create packs and samples for producers to use and if it's multiple pieces from different packs, then all of those guys get credited.
:wtf:

They doing it wrong.

A good sound pack is supposed to be royalty free.

Like GarageBand and that Fort Minor -Believe Me violin riff...itnwas used in a few different songs but GarageBand is royalty free

They've found a way to monetize it. Mike Will can release a sound pack and another producer use a snare or kick and he gets credited. It blew my mind when I found out that Frank Dukes was creating tracks and selling them where other producers could sample from what he created, but he was also getting co-producer credits from it.

Not all of them are and I think it's fair. I mean if you sample a track you have to give the original artist credit and they get paid royalties since you sampled them.

Wow thats trash.

And most of them be using snares and kicks they found in a pack somewhere else.

And just about all of the sounds originate from the 80s Roland 808 or some 80s drum machine and just tweaked.

Getting credited for a snare sound? Lame.

Some of the best sound packs that are being used by producers and actually getting them placements are not royalty free.

A friend of mines runs a well known group, they legit get percentages/writing credits on records.

You don't understand breh lol, it's not just drum hits but samples being used for melodies, drum loops or bass lines too.

For example

This is the original 0 to 100 loop by artist Adam Feeny who works with Kingsway Music Library, you probably seen his work online if you make beats

They flipped it into this

He got paid. Point being some soundpacks are royalty free but others aren't and espeically if a musician puts in a lot of hard work into their loops and sounds for someone to just copy, pitch it down, chop it, add drums and get paid millions isn't all the way fair imo. If it's something thrown out for free then fine but if you make money off using their stuff why shouldn't they?

I know, but “South Detroit” does not even exist in reality. Only East and West
I don't know breh, this detorit legend uses the term south west detroit in the first minute of this interview

He also calls it the hole. Where is that?

DETROIT (Do Every Thing Right Or It's Trouble)

Tell me about a city I've lived in my whole life breh

There are only two sides of Detroit that's East & West

Southwest is a neighborhood on the West side just like the North End is a small neighborhood on the East side. But SW is so far down bottom its seperated from most of the city since its at the very bottom.

The Hole (Boynton) is a small section at the bottom of SW and is called the hole because its literally a dead end neighborhood, Only one way in and one way out, its bounded by Schafer Hwy to the south, I-75 to the West, The Rouge River to the North, and Bassett Street to the East. It's literally only 9 city blocks so everybody knows everybody over there.
