I always thought it was the opposite. That singers today weren't challenging their voices, and classical/opera singers had to the most to worry about in that catagory

It's more so the technique.

The opera singers singing is more so through their diaphragm and they have a wider range.

The new singers are trying to reach notes that's out of their range and straining their voice. Screaming and yelling and not actually belting/ Sing it. Creating a rasp when their natural voice isn't raspy can mess it up too.

But opera singers also take amazing care of their vocals. They don't drink, smoke and take extreme vocal rest.

Point is none of these hoes is can really sang. That wasn’t an issue with our black queens 20 years ago. now our women can’t even outsing above average cacs.. that’s the problem. Not enough talent and skill. A pretty tone and nice branding doesn’t compensate for run of the mill singing that any crooner on the street could emulate.​
