Im at steeles and highway 10, not to far from where your at. Brampton sucks though, if your going to downtown go to the bier markt.
There are a ton of indian restaurants in brampton, only a few of them are pretty good, if your into that than I can give you a few places.
Also in brampton burrito boys is where most people go to, which also isnt too far from where you are

I'm more in the east of the city, Flemingdon Park, but i know that area. If u goin downtown I'd suggest BierMarkt cuz the food is good and a lot of choices of beer. i'd suggest spice route on king, but the food is mediocre, the service sucks but its a spot that girls dress to impress. Dunno if its poppin on a Wed though.
You want something Canadian? go to Swiss Chalet for a restaurant. And Mary Browns Fried Chicken for a quick lunch, don't forget to salt the taters neither.
